Playing Catch Up!

I do realize that it has been over a week since I have blogged, but I knew last week was going to be very long and stressful.  Carl worked late every night and even though the weather was beautiful we just didn't do a whole lot of exciting stuff.  Yesterday we went to church, grilled out steaks (SO YUMMY!!), and then went fishing again.  We just fished from the bank this time.  Trey is a little scared of riding in the boat--I think it's because it sits so close to the water, and with 5 people in it, well, I get a little scared every time somebody moves!! Here are the (very few) pictures I took last week: Trey was hooking up his big wagon.  We have the wagon that actually "goes" with the tractor but he insisted on hooking this one up! Makena made sure that "hooty" was safe on the way to school! Me and Trey playing in the fort :)

Family Fun Day!

Carlie, sporting her new bathing suit My little Diva, Makena Carl and the kids in the fishing boat Makena with her first fish of the trip Makena with her second fish We had a wonderful Saturday!  Carl was off work so we played around in the yard, planted our flowers, and took a little fishing trip!  This is the first time that we all (5of us) went in the fishing boat.  I have to admit that I was a little scared, but once we got situated, it was fine.  We went to the reservoir at the farm and the moss was getting kind of think, but Makena caught 2 fish and she was thrilled!!  Today Carl's parents came to see us and we had a great time visiting with them.  I'm glad that we had the weekend to rest and spend time together because it looks like this week is going to be very hectic and busy.  "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us....."  Ephesians 1:3

Easter Day!!

The kids before church The kids AT church Carlie at Grammy and Papa's While getting an egg, Makena found a FROG!! Trey is a looking' He found a $$ egg Blaine got dye all over his hands Kristen and Carlie found some Miss Hadlee Michelle--such a cutie pie! What gorgeous day to celebrate our Risen Savior!!  We haven't had an Easter this warm and pretty in a few years.  This morning was a little chaotic at our house despite the fact that our clothes were all laid out and ready for us to put on.  I got lazy last night and didn't run the bulletins off at the church so I had to do it this morning and I also had to make deviled eggs to take to Grammy's.  We did make it to church on time--even early because I was determined to take pictures before we left.  Our church choir did a cantata this morning and we had a wonderful message to follow.  "He is not here but He is risen"  Matthew 28:6 Hope everyone has had a Happy and Blessed Easter!!

The Day Before Easter

Trey was working hard on his eggs Makena with her pretty blue egg Oh, man this was a mess--tie dye eggs--won't do that again! Makena's glitter eggs--these were messy too the finished tie dye egg A proud Carlie Makena with her pink glitter egg Trey made his egg into a smiley face :) Saturday was our egg-dying day.  I have to admit this isn't my favorite part of Easter.  I don't enjoy going to church on Sunday with dyed fingers.  We did pretty well with the dying this year, no major spills or messes.  The kids had a blast because they got to use the dye kits that they picked out, instead of using the plain ones.  Since it rained on Friday night, Carl got to be home with us all day and that meant that we to a lot accomplished around the house.  The kids enjoyed playing outside all afternoon and finished the day with a cook-out with my grandparents.  We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful Saturday!

I'm not sure how many kids still get out for Good Friday, but since my kids are at a Christian School, we still do.  We left early yesterday morning to go to Morrilton to spend the day with my sister and her family.  Carl was pretty busy at the farm with the planting and all that good stuff, so me and the kids went with my parents.  We had a great time visiting and playing at Petit Jean State Park then we went back to Jamie's for an egg hunt.  I didn't get many pictures of the egg hunt because I was obviously busy, but they had a great time and by the time we got back home we were exhausted!  We are all recovering from this viral illn
