Back To School 2022

Hey guys! I've been a little busy around here for the past two weeks, so I wanted to take a few minutes to put a few pictures up of what we've been up to during the first couple of weeks of school. Trey is enjoying his document processing class. And then he had to clown...typical Trey Bible with Mr. McBride is always a favorite. Boone loves it too Trey's favorite school supply:  his Bob Ross calendar! We moved Makena to school on the 22nd. She is in a dorm that is super nice and basically an apartment. She has her own room and shares a bathroom with 1 suitemate. All smiles this year! Last year she moved in a week late because she had Covid, and her first year Carl and I were in tears.  This was the best move-in so far!   We had our annual Back to School kick-off for the Gospel Project kids at church.  We had a big game night planned but it rained off -and -on all afternoon (keep in mind that it hadn't rained in weeks) so we had pizza indoors then played a few games out

The Mountains Win Again

Good Monday friends! We are back from our much needed getaway and had such a wonderful time.  It's always good to leave and just as good to get back home! I always feel rejuvenated and motivated when I first return home.  While I wait to switch some laundry around, I thought I may as well touch on some of the highlights of our trip :) The views on our way up to the mountains were beautiful!                                           We found a mural :) Trey loves crab! We were thankful for a nice cool spot to eat with a beautiful view. If you are ever in Branson, head down to Branson Landing.  There are tons of shops and restaurants. You can also see the fire and water show. It is a fun atmosphere The absolute sweetest girl I know! We did a tacky typical tourist thing and went to the Titanic Museum.  Makena has wanted to go for years!  We all had a really good time :) Steering the ship into the night. Our Captain :) We found it ironic that T got the boarding pass of a musician. Sad

Homeschool Curriculum Choices 2022-2023

Happy Monday friends!  I tried to get back on the blogging bandwagon last week, but things didn't really pan out. So, here I am again, working to get back at it!  Today I wanted to show you a little about our choice for homeschool curriculum:  Our old and trusty, Abeka. I have debated many times on if we should try another curriculum or even make our own, but I always go back to abeka because, let's face it, I am comfortable with it, Trey is comfortable with it, and it has proven itself to be worthy of the expense.  My girls have done great with their higher education. Trey's textbooks and the videos (up to Thanksgiving) He is taking: English 11 (includes American Literature), Keyboarding and document processing, Chemistry with Lab, U.S. History/Economics, Plane Geometry, and Life Management/Bible.  Our plan is to do school for four days a week and then he will be able to work all day on Friday. He will also be working part-time, three days a week at the hardware store whe
