Fight the Fight, Run the Race, KEEP THE FAITH...

What we did at Pre-Teen Retreat.... Played a little golf... And a little more golf.... And some laser tag.... And .... we played relay games!! Had to throw a picture of Trey in too!! I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 This was our "theme" of the weekend.  We had a great time in Greers Ferry at the Pre-Teen Retreat.  We took 5 kids, 3 adults, and Trey.  It was a lot packed into 24 hours, but it was well worth the exhaustion!  We played golf, laser tag, games, and we ran the "Amazing Race".  Saturday morning we had classes on the wooded trails.  It was really great and I know there some professions of faith made.  To top the weekend off my friend Jill called me on Sunday and told me that her daughter, Skyler, had accepted Jesus as her Savior and was going to be baptized that afternoon. So we went to watch her be baptized--just me, Makena, and Carlie.  Carlie was very excited when I told her about it, but when

It's A Zoo Day!

I'm thinking this should be my doormat! All the little fishes...and a duck! My two pretty girls Trey was standing in front of Mary and Ellen the Elephants Giraffe Farmer Carlie and her two flowers :) Trey on a RED tractor--NOT IN OUR HOUSE!! Makena plowing some corn Two lazy porcupines On the carousel Carlie and Ellie Kate Makena and Miss Ellie Today was our trip to the Little Rock Zoo.  We had so much fun--well, besides the fact that we were served raw hamburgers(don't go to the zoo restaurant)--we did all there was to do.  We saw all kinds of animals, rode on the carousel, and of course we rode on the train!  When we got back from LR we went to my Mom's to see my sister, Jamie and her sweet baby girl, Ellie Kate.  So we spent the rest of the afternoon loving on that precious little girl. When I checked the blog this evening I was really excited to learn that I actually won something!!  Check out the cute flip-flops here .  Now my dilemma is which girl to give them to??

Breakfast In Bed

This was the note on my tray this morning: The past two years during Spring Break Carlie has made it a tradition to fix me breakfast in bed.  This is not something that I tell her to do, nor do I expect her to do it--it's just something that she likes to do.  It is a very sweet act, and even though I have to clean up the mess, I lay there and wait on her to bring it.  This year she had the help of Trey.  They fixed me Honey Nut Cheerios, toast with jelly, and grapes...oh, and a Mt. Dew to drink!!  They know me well :)  I love that they have such sweet hearts!  Makena wasn't in on the action today, but she told me when she woke up that she would help tomorrow!!   I think Carl is taking off tomorrow to  go to the zoo with us.  I am very excited about this because the past few years we have gone with my Mom and Grandma.  It's always nice to have him when we can get him.

Aloha!

My little hula girl, Makena This was Makena's birthday cake one year. The flowers were delicious!!  Makena has been "Hawaiian" since she was 4!! So cool Carlie without her braces. This is what happens when you have older sisters! Today was Hawaiian day in Mrs. Odom's 2ND grade class.   This absolutely thrilled Makena because from the time I told her that her name was Hawaiian (Makena Beach in Maui) she has considered herself Hawaiian--funny I know! Anyway, they had to do a short report and dress the part today in class.  I forgot my camera and was very mad, so we cheated and took these pictures this afternoon after school :)  I guess the teachers were really ready for Spring Break to start because we were leaving the parking lot at 3:10.  That's at least 15 minutes earlier than usual.  Everybody had a good day and even though Carl is working later, the afternoon has gone by really fast.  I am so ready for next week so we can sleep-in!  We have a few outings pla

Just to say I've Posted......

Makena before church Sunday Morning Trey is my little computer nerd! My Carlie:  if you look closely you can see she has NO BRACES!!! Yay:) The most exciting thing that has happened around here in the past week is that Carlie got her braces off on Thursday.  She only had them on for 6 months!  That has got to be the shortest time ever to wear braces!!  We go back in ten days to get our retainer so everything will stay in it's proper place.  She really didn't want them off, but I think she is used to it now and likes it.   Friday night we went to revival at a friends church.  Since it rained at the end of last week Carl didn't get to work in the field on Saturday, which meant that he did get to work on the demolition of our storage building.  He had to turn the electricity off and re-wire some things because our hot water heater was wired out in the building--CRAZY, I know.  It always scares me to think of him working with elecricity, because let's face it, he isn't

Sunny Days and Sidewalk Chalk

What a Beautiful day!!   We have really enjoyed the past few days.  Saturday I was supposed to attend a Vacation Bible School Seminar in Pine Bluff but Carl had to work and I didn't want to bring Trey along, so I stayed at home :(    We decided that since there wasn't anything else to do we would go to the park.  I did take my camera along but I ran into an old friend and I didn't get the opportunity to take any pics.  We had only been there for about 30 minutes when Carl called and said that he was coming home, so he came by the park and watched the kids play for a while, then we all went home.   Demolition is in full force at our house.  Carl finally finished my storage building and we are working on tearing the old one down (YES!!)  I'm really hoping that it will be done by Easter, but since Carl is already in the field, it may or may not happen.  Yesterday after church the girls and I took a bike ride while Carl and Trey burned some old boards and junk from the bui
