Pictures of the Week

I found a new profession: Storm Chasing!  NOT!! Saturday night my parents came over and we grilled out some burgers and hot dogs.  Just as we were finishing up it started thundering and getting dark.  It never got really bad here, just a quick downpour!  Thank goodness it was all over before bedtime! This was a forced picture taken Sunday before church. I guess I didn't realize it until I saw this, but Trey sure does need a haircut!   Carlie and her silly cat.  That cat will let her hold it just like a baby.   Playing four square with three people!  There are several things wrong with this picture, #1 there are no "squares", #2 there are only three people, and #3 they are playing with a HUGE ball and not a 4 square ball.  This makes it extremely difficult to play the game right.  When you add a person (whose name I will not mention) who likes to make up the rules as they go, it is just complete chaos!   The one on the left would be the boss!

Making Pizza!

It was Friday Night Pizza night at the Munger house!  I had promised the kids that we would get around to making our own pizza's one night, and this was the night.  They had such a fun time rolling out the dough and adding all the toppings.  They may not have been the most beautiful pizza's you've ever seen, but they tasted great!  I was really surprised and I think Carl was too :) Carlie was working so hard she is blurry!  No, actually she was trying to hurry and move out of my way so I wouldn't take a picture of her! Makena was hard at work on her (and Trey's) pizza. The only thing Trey was allowed to do was roll the dough.   Trey and Makena's pizza.  I didn't get a picture of Carlie's.  They were so proud!!   I have to say that over all, pizza night was a success!!  It was a fun memory-making activity :)   Finally Friday!!!  4 More Weeks of School :)   Beth

Fun With the Cousins/Outdoor Fun

We were pleasantly surprised on Monday afternoon when my parents went to pick up my niece and nephews!  Trey (and the girls) love playing them.  I didn't tell Trey the boys were coming and Noah really surprised him when he just walked in the living room and said, "Hey Trey, you wanna go play outside".  Trey did a double take :)  It was cute!  So Tuesday after we got home from school the first thing he wanted to do was go play with the cousins!  We played for a while, then ate supper, then went to my parents house and they played some more.  We left around 7:30 or 7:45 to go home and get baths.  That is the hardest thing about this time of year:  it stays light later and they don't ever want to come in until it's time for bed!  My mom got some good pictures of them playing outside but I got the best one :) All six of them!  And believe it or not, they are all looking at the camera!   On another day, Carlie, Trey, and I were outside playing while Makena was

Camo/Duck Dynasty Night At Discovery

Well, we celebrated this week at Discovery by having a Camo/Duck Dynasty night.  It was just something fun for the kids to do and since pretty much all of them love Duck Dynasty, they were all really excited to participate! All three of my Duck Dynasty fans!!  All of the crew except the teens.  They were back in their class. I wish I had gotten a picture of Piper.  She was dressed as Miss Kay with her apron on and looked so cute!  I was wondering if anyone would do that.    I felt like tonight almost overwhelmed the kids.  They were just so "in" to their outfits, my class had kind of a hard time concentrating....of course, from what I hear at school, that is pretty much happening with all students at this point! They are getting restless and ready for summer  :)    Beth

Cleaning Out The Pool

Well, it was a little earlier than usual, but today we (Carl) helped clean out my parents pool.  They don't have a cover for it, so it gets pretty nasty and GREEN!  Leaves get in it, and it's just a stinky mess.  So every year Carl and my dad have to pump the pool out.  All 33,000 gallons.  It takes a little over half a day to get it all out and then it's time to refill and that takes about 3 days.  Trey likes to take part in helping out.  Trey and Makena Faith watching the nasty water go down. Trey was helping sweep the dirt away. Check out my redneck man!  He scared me to death being in there.  All I could think of was him sliding down and re-injuring his knee.  At this point Makena had found her a swimsuit in the house and tried to catch a tan!   All clean and ready for some fun! Now, if it will just quit raining and get warm!!   Beth

Crazy Hair Night

This past Wednesday night we had Crazy Hair Night at Discovery.  The kids really got into it and had such a fun time doing it. Makena had one side of her braids pink and the other side blue. Carlie had her hair in a high ponytail, all teased up and sprayed pink. Trey, well my little rebel had to spike his hair up as well as dress like a redneck.   This is the whole motley crew   Three more weeks left of Discovery and only 5 1/2 weeks of school!!   Beth

Blue/White Game & Trophy Night

Tonight was the Blue/White basketball game (and senior night) at our school.  We normally would have this game right after basketball season is over, but things got moved around a little bit and we had to squeeze it in with the Athletic Banquet that just turned in to trophy night.  It was not as nice at it normally is because they had to be meshed together, but it's over and done with now.  I'm not gonna lie, it just didn't seem as special to me as it usually does.  On top of that, Makena didn't get to play at all last night because she missed school yesterday!  She has had a terrible cough most of the week, so I took her to the doctor yesterday morning.  He gave her some meds, and thankfully they seem to be helping, but no basketball for her :(   These are the games that the whole school (whoever wants to) get to play in.  So the ages ranged from the varsity team all the way down to Kindergartners.  They were pretty good at helping them out.  The big gi

God Bless Saturday!

This was my seat when I was actually sitting down.  I can watch the kids play perfectly from this very spot.  Add a cup of sweet tea and it makes for a perfect Saturday!   The kids begged me to let them play on the trampoline with the water hose.  This is one of our pre-pool activities!  It was pretty warm, but by the time I took this picture Carlie and Trey had already retreated to warm up!    How sweet is this?!  I couldn't believe it.  Carlie was sharing the swing with T.  Notice they are all wrapped up in their towels :)  We have our moments!   Here is Carlie with one of her cats again!  This cat is solid black.  It has many names, but she calls it "Little Pretty Kitty".  He's about to get to big for his name!   Almost always when we have bonfires we do it when it's dark outside.  However, today the weather was so perfect we decided to have one about an hour before it got dark.  It was really nice.   Carlie likes her marshmallows

A Few New Things & Friday Night With Friends

My sweet friend, Jill got me this cute little green owl.  It is really a garden owl, but I just couldn't put him outside!  He's too cute :)   A local gift shop started selling these t-shirts a couple of months ago but were sold out when I went to get one, so I ordered one.  They called this week and said it was here!  I've never been a pink person, but I love this neon pink.   Makena asked me what Sugar Town was so I had to explain to her that if you take all the t's out of Stuttgart, it spells sugar.  People have called it Sugar Town for years!   The girls have been begging me all week to let friends come over, and despite me trying to find an excuse for this not to happen, I could think of nothing.  I mean, they did have all A's on their report cards and they haven't been in too much trouble, so I was stuck!  It's not that I mind them having people over, it's just that it's such a hassle trying to get things "company" ready a

A Fun Day in Small Town USA

It's amazing how well they get along when nobody else is around! Makena was being sweet and played ball with Trey. Papa stopped by to visit on the Gator and Trey came over to catch a ride.   This is what takes up most of Carl's time these days. The jet boat that I have named, "The Money Pit".  He hasn't officially named it yet, but I believe if he were able all of his money would go to it.  Just a bit of a sore spot around here!   It was one of the first pretty, warm, days since Spring Break, and we had lots to do outside.  We tried to enjoy every minute of it!  I've been a little hesitant about letting Trey stay outside and get too hot since his pneumonia (even though the doctor said he's fine), but he got to go out and play as much as he wanted today.  Carl woke up early this morning and put two pork butts on the grill.  He loves to cook meat.  And while I love to eat it, I don't love smelling the smoke from the grill all day!
