Memorial Day

Getting ready to eat some good food always makes me happy! Carlie was a little annoyed at my picture taking The Cyclone is better used as a floatation device than a spinner Makena showing off her braids We were missing Eli and Ellie Kate because they were both asleep...NEVER wake a sleeping baby for ANYTHING!! Trey was telling Noah how good this  homemade banana ice cream is. Playing Bocce Ball--Very Fun!! One Cool Little Man The Grill Master, Pop Today was a very fun Memorial Day!  First and foremost, Carl didn't have to work all day because it rained at the farm on Saturday afternoon--like an inch!!  Yay for afternoon showers :)  So after they put down some poly pipe he came home!!  We had a great time visiting with some church folks that my Mom and Dad had invited, along with my sister and her family, and my grandparents.  We ate LOTS of good food (like I knew we would), played in the pool, and played bocce ball (which I didn't even know existed until today, but is SO m

You're A Grand Old Flag!

Our attempt at a Flag Cake! This scares me a little! Carlie Bug The only picture of Makena by herself Makena, Trey, and Carlie Carl and Trey about to take the plunge What a beautiful day!!  We went to church this morning and then had our 5Th Sunday services that included potluck and singing (just not at the same time!).  The kids wanted to help me make a flag cake, so I let them do it...I made the cake last night and then this morning before church I let them add the strawberries and blueberries.  They loved that they got to help! After church it was time to head to the pool and thankfully today, Carl was home to play with Trey.  He LOVES to have someone to play with in the pool.  He is getting a lot more brave when it comes to swimming without his floaties.  He did this last year, but he's just remembering that he can do it again.  He's even figured out how to make himself go to the bottom of the pool to retrieve dive rings :)  The girls are old pros at the pool.  They p

Carlie's class singing.   I did get this on video, but for some reason it will not upload. Makena was playing the last-day-of-school blues :) Makena's class at rehearsal yesterday.  I left my camera in the car last night and the battery was going down on my video camera, so I only got the video of her class singing last night and no pictures :( We are finally out of school, and we are SO excited !!  Trey and I spent the whole morning at the school yesterday helping with the birthday party for June and July birthdays, as well as cleaning up for graduation.  The kids went over their music and graduation stuff for that night, had a party, and watched a movie. They also had the whole school judge who had the best 3D book report, and just take a guess and who won.....MY CARLIE!!  I w

This is Trey's new shirt that Amber made. She does a great job! Carlie was practicing her moves. Makena on her scooter. I couldn't resist this shot--love these shirts! Last night about 9:30, Carl went outside to get something from his truck and he heard something eating our scraps-- Trey said "it's Swiper the Fox!!" :) Not a lot has gone on this week.  Carlie is working on a 3D book report on Noah's Ark and we have been working on getting the pool cleared up without having to drain it--it's getting drained this weekend!!  Thanks to the rain, Carl has been off early all week and we have had fun just playing outside in the evenings.  As we are winding down the school year, we have already made some very important decisions regarding Carlie and Makena's schooling next year...we are HOMESCHOOLING!!   Just writing that makes me extremely nervous but it is something that I have been praying about for at least a year.  I am very happy with our school,

Congratulations Lauren and Clayton!

Makena by the cake :) Yummy Punch!! Carlie and Amber My two favorite men...My Dad and Carl :) The Happy Couple! Why is it that I always cry at weddings?!  I can't help it, there's just something about them that makes me tear up!  Yesterday we attended Lauren and Clayton's wedding at our church.  I have known Lauren for, well, we won't say how long because then someone might look old.  She is a very smart and  sweet girl and I am very proud that she found someone who makes her happy :)  So congratulations Lauren and Clayton!!

ALL ABOARD!!

Our Group Carlie and Trey on the train Our presentation Makena with her snazzy new coloring book My friend Jill with her girls and Judah Peek-A-Boo!! Our school was invited to ride the passenger train that came through Stuttgart today!!  This was courtesy of Arkansas Operation Lifesaver and the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce, so we had to watch a little presentation on train safety.  Trey and I were able to ride along with the girls and he LOVED it !!  We only went about 15 or 20 miles to Humphrey, but we were on the train for a little over an hour.  All the kids in our car were very well behaved and a few of them even spotted their houses and farms along the way.  It was a fun end-of-the-year trip for the kiddos :)  Only 12 more days until we're out and I CAN'T WAIT!!  Hope everyone has a great Wednesday :)

Well, even though the weather hasn't been the prettiest, I have still had a great Mother's Day!  We went to church, had a yummy lunch with my Grammy, Mom, and my Sis, and got lots of goodies too!!  How much better does it get?!  This afternoon Carl helped me clean out my car--which was a total mess and then I got to help Carlie with her homework--did I mention that she is like the smartest 3rd grader in the world?!  Seriously, I am amazed at how well she does, and how easy it comes to her.  Makena hasn't felt just the best in the world today (tummy issues) and has spent most of the afternoon in her
