Shuckin' Corn, Tie Dyin', A Surgeon, & Getting Patriotic

Whew,  I am so glad this week is almost over! It has been a doozy. I am really glad that our beach countdown is now at 10 days...eek! I just feel like I have been going through the motions all week. In fact some days I have felt like if I hadn't had kids, I probably wouldn't have even bothered to get out of bed! But motherhood calls and God is good , so the show goes on. Monday night after Carl got home from work we went to my parents house to shuck and bag some corn. I absolutely LOVE being able to eat it in the winter....it's like a little gift reminding me that summer is coming again!! On Tuesday evening the kids and I went back over to Nanny's to do our tie dye shirts while Carl stayed home and worked on the boat. They had fun and turned out great (I forgot to take an after picture though!). Wednesday was the big appointment with a plastic surgeon to see about having Makena's  birthmark removed. It went great! We were a little bummed because the ACH gift s

A Birthday,More Swimming, and Comedy Hour

You may ask, "Do you swim everyday?!" and the answer would be yes! We enjoy our summers at the pool with friends and alone :) This week was mostly alone, and it was fantabulous!! My dad, Pop, also celebrated his birthday on Saturday. He didn't want a cake (what?!), so we had ice creams poolside. On Sunday, my parents had a cook out at their house followed by, you guessed it, swimming (but today we had LOTS of friends)! Nanny, Trey, and Carlie Every time I tried to take Makena's picture, she was under water! Carlie with her crooked jump! Makena and I were playing with my phone under water.  You Apple people can have your iPhone, I personally LOVE my Samsung! Pop and Trey playing pool ball on his birthday. Everyone say, "Birthday ice cream"! Happy Birthday, Pop!! Carlie sliding on the turtle Makena's attempt was a failed one....she ended up falling in the pool! Trey fell off of Din

Happy Father's Day!

I have to take a few moments to give a shout out to a few of my favorite fathers. Number one is Carl. He is a great dad and an awesome example to our kids. He works hard and we are so thankful for him. Next is my dad or as my kids call him, Pop. He is awesome. He loves us unconditionally and is a great Christian example. Then there is my Papa, Papaw Garrett, and Carl's step-dad, T.R. They are all great men!! Carl with the kiddos! Trey and Papa Carl, Pop, Carlie, Nanny, and Papa We decided to go for a swim after church Sunday night. Much Love, Beth

VBS 2016 Part 1

This year our theme for Vacation Bible School was Cowabunga Farm. We survived the week with 30+ kids and the hottest temperatures that we've had so far this summer. It was always easy, but it was so worth it to hear the kids tell about all they had learned. Welcome to Cowabunga Farm! Carl and some of the kids pumping and dumping their water Our farm animal for the first night was Buster the goat. Trey and Noah....best cousins The second night we had Tilly the mini horse! Noah, Lucas, and Trey......best buds (trouble times 3)! Uncle Dean with the boys on the Gator! Nick and Carlie ;) Makena Faith: she helped me out by playing the guitar for me this week :) The third night we had chickens! The fourth night we had baby puppies (too small to be there if you ask me) and rabbits. Trey and Makena getting the pumping/dumping station ready since Carl couldn't be there Thursday night.

Life In The Slow Lane

We have been taking it easy around here lately.  I realized on Tuesday that I hadn't been to "town" (18 Mikes away) since Friday...that's 4 days away from civilization  (not really, but kind of). I am honestly NOT missing the drive EVERY DAY!!   We have finally started to get some veggies out of our garden! Still no tomatoes, but we have squash, cucumbers and jalapenos.     I may have mentioned it before, but I do love these flowers.  Most of them are taller than I am!   Trey and Carl have been shooting their bows.  They are already ready for hunting season!   Carlie and Sadie   My Sadie Lou and the sack she drug up from somewhere!   Every year we try to take a picture of all of my moms grandkids on the diving board at her pool. It's kind of neat to see how much they have grown from year to year!   Yesterday evening we drove to the farm so Carl and Trey could put their game cameras out. They are mostl
