Happy Birthday, Trey!

Seventeen years ago, I was anxiously awaiting the birth of a very special little boy.  He was special for many reasons:  all babies are special, but he was the boy to carry on our last name, and to top that off, he was the first boy born on my side of the family in 24 years!  To say he was spoiled rotten is an understatement.  He had his sisters, my parents, and my grandparents to give him pretty much whatever he wanted! But he was always such a good, easy kid. He is still a good kid.  He is kind and helpful (most of the time).  He isn't perfect (we still have a bad attitude and a smart mouth at times) but I wouldn't trade him for the world. Here is a prayer for you, my sweet boy: Lord, I pray that my son will love you with all of his heart, soul, and strength.  Help him to be strong, and a courageous leader, wherever he goes.  Teach him to have a heart of compassion for others.  Protect him against sexual temptation and teach him to grow and be a diligent and hard worker.  Gi

Daddy and Mommy are excited to get the show on the road! Good, strong heartbeat for baby girl! We are so excited!! Trying to get things rolling. Still all smiles. And time for dad to have a snack More walking and Pappy even got to stop by and see his baby girl. Just so happens that they started rice harvest that day (perfect timing). Got her epidural after finally making some progress. Time to rest for a while. And then we had a bit of a shift in the atmosphere. The baby's heart rate started to decelerate so they gave Carlie oxygen. When the doctor rushed in to check her immediately after the nurse, I knew something was off. Turns out Carlie was bleeding more than she should have been. Although she was still progressing it was decided that an emergency c-section was going to be the best and safest option for both mom and baby. We had a
