What We've Been Up To

We got a new puppy!! This is Snoopy!   The girls and I helped out with sweet Melissa's baby shower. She will be having Baby Reed sometime in September. I think she is just an adorable pregnant person and we can't wait to meet Reed!   Target Practicing Getting some pointers from Daddy (the pro!)   4Wheeler Riding       Swimming Playing with the cousins Stayin' out late   Nothing big going on around here.  We are just trying to enjoy the last 4 weeks before school starts!   Beth

Happy 11th Birthday, Makena Faith!

Happy Birthday, to my sweet Makena Faith! I always have fun making these collages. I'll admit that I did get a bit teary looking through all of her baby pictures!  I can't believe how grown up she is now.   She called Grammy and asked her to make her a Hershey Bar cake. They are delicious! Blowing out her candles   The Simpson's got her a peace sign teddy bear.  You're never too old for stuffed animals. Noah made her a funny card and couldn't wait to show everyone!     Nanny and Pop got her a Google Nextbook.  Yes, she did just get a tablet for Christmas, but the week after school let out she dropped it on our hard wood floor and busted the screen. This one is bigger and has a camera on it.  She loved it!   She also got lots of money.   Carl and I got her a Vera Bradley purse that is purple, of course!   She is One Directions biggest fan, I promise! The card sang "One Thing".   T

Lace Family Reunion

Tired and weary from a week full of travels, we made our way up to the Annual Lace Family Reunion in Cherry Valley.  I say Annual, but this was our first time (as a family) to attend one.  It was very nice and you could tell that a lot of effort was put into making it that way.  They had prizes, games, good food, and birthday cake.  I don't really know whose birthday it was, besides Uncle Bob.  I probably still wouldn't know who Uncle Bob is, but we sang Happy Birthday to him anyway! Makena let Trey sleep on her lap.   Carl, his mom and the kids You can tell by his eyes that he wasn't completely well. Carlie an Makena got to play with their cousin, Emma.  Emma lives in Iowa and we haven't seen her in bout 4 years, so it was good that they got to play together.   The night before the reunion Trey came in from playing outside and started complaining about his neck hurting....and he looked sick.  So, I took his temp and it was over 101.  I gave him

More Fourth Fun!

Playing Ladder Ball Pop was riding Trey's bike!   Nanny was getting pretty good at it!   Carl and Pop still beat them, though.   Carlie with her sparklers   Trey is still a little afraid of them.  This girl is so fun! A fireworks heart....or at least, an attempt at one!   Something she bought.  Sad thing about it is, it was one of those things that after you lit it, it flopped! She was so mad!   After a little afternoon rest, my parents came over and played a few games of ladder ball and then watched the kids do their fireworks.  It's our tradition, dating back to when it was just Carlie (not the ladder ball, but the fireworks)!  It's always fun, even if we have to bathe in Off!   God Bless The USA!!   Beth

A Fourth Of July Fish Fry...and More Swimming

Trey was my Yankee Doodle Boy! Trey and Papa He was going around getting a picture of everybody with the hat. Trey and Grammy. I promise, I asked the girls to do this and they wanted no part of it. I didn't leave them out. Trey and Pop. They traded hats Trey and Nanny I'm not sure why he wanted to wear his glasses.  He just got up and put them on.   Carl, Trey, and Pop were doing a good job of cooking the fish.   Carlie with a flag horn I finally made them take a group one. T and Mommy   Makena Faith Carlie and Trey were playing a game with Nanny.   Fun in the Pool on the Fourth!   We had a great day spending time with family, eat some really good food, and swimming.  Well, I didn't swim much because it was soo cold.  That little cool snap we had last week made the water like ice (well, at least to me).   More pictures coming soon!   Beth

More Pictures From Our Trip

Breakfast at the Hampton We found Pop's office in Richland, MS They thought this would be funny!  My buddies :) Pillow Pets are really good for traveling, though. Okay, we may be slightly obsessed with The Bearded Men, aka The Robertsons from Duck Dynasty. On our way back from Biloxi, we made a slight detour to West Monroe, LA to visit their warehouse. Well, evidently we had just missed a big event they were having, but we got to see Jep and Jace!  They were in their two different trucks at the Stop sign when we were pulling in.  Carl rolled down his window and Jace gave us a thumbs-up and then Jep had his window down and Carl said, "Hey" and Jep said, "Hey"!!  It wasn't anything big but we were excited!  I actually could have gotten a picture of them, but I guess I was too star-struck!  If you've never watched this show, you've gotta give it a try.  It's very clean and family-oriented.     Kids were excited!
