One Busy Lady

This has been "the summer" for losing teeth in the Munger house.  I think we have lost a grand total of 5 or 6 teeth between Carlie and Makena!! The tooth fairy has been one busy lady :)  Carlie got in the car from school on Wednesday and handed me a zip lock baggy with a tooth in it.  So what exactly are you supposed to do with baby teeth?!  Do you keep them?  When I was a little girl someone gave me a little keepsake box for the teeth that I lost and it had a tooth fairy on it...I've never seen one anywhere like it.  Anyway, I still have my teeth in there....Carl thinks it's disgusting, and honestly, I don't know why I've kept them all this time.  I just don't know what to do with the kids teeth.  I'll let you know what I decide :) The first week of school has gone really well. They had their first quizzes today, one in Science and the other in American History.   We have managed to get out of the house by 7:45 and make it to school by 8:10...and t

Happy Harvest!

Harvest is in full swing here on the Grand Prairie!  The weather has been absolutely perfect and looks to stay that way for the rest of the week :)   Happy Harvest, everybody!!

Back To School

Makena thought she was ready for bed, but bless her heart, she was so excited that she had a hard time going to sleep! Carlie was ready to get her beauty sleep Dressed and Ready!! Have you already gathered that this is her most favorite shirt, EVER?! Anxious, Nervous, Excited!! The two prettiest girls at Evangelical Methodist School! Carlie by the board in her classroom Makena in front of the 3rd grade board After we dropped the girls off Trey and I went to see Carl at the rice mill before he went back out to the farm.  Trey was thrilled :)

Things I Want To Remember About This Summer

Since school about to start, I wanted to take the time and write about the things I want to remember most about this summer.  So here they are in no particular order(after the first one, of course!): Carlie being saved and baptized.  I think this one speaks for itself :)  Best thing about this summer!  It was such an answered prayer. Makena learning how to do her back bend from a standing position.  This is something that she was determined to do, and even though it was tough for her, she did accomplish it and we are very proud of her. Trey learning how to swim on his own without floaties.  I wasn't too thrilled about Carl letting him try this one day, but he quickly let me know that he was ready and Carl said he wouldn't ever learn until we took the floaties off.  He was swimming in no time!  Now he can swim from one side of the pool to the other :) Cookouts:  it didn't matter if we were with friends, lots of family, or just our family, we had a lot of fun grilling,

Friday....3 More Days

Today was the day(actually yesterday, I'm still a day behind!)...we got to meet our new teachers :)  You know, a really good blogger mom would have taken her camera to take pictures of the girls with the principal, new teachers, friends, etc.  Well, the day proved to be a little challenging, so I was not a good blogger mommy.  As we were leaving for Open House yesterday, Trey started saying his tummy hurt....SERIOUSLY??  So I load them all up anyway, and we take off to town.  On the 15 minute ride he continues to complain numerous times.  I try to ignore, the whole time praying so hard that he doesn't get sick.  So we made it!!  He didn't complain the whole time we were at the school...WHEW!!  Their teacher seems to be really sweet !  :)    We talked for a while and then left.  I had already planned to go shopping before we went back home, so we headed over to Belk.  While we were there Trey started complaining again, only this time he was on the ground with his knees to

Still Counting Down.....4 More Days!

So, I'm actually posting this on Friday....I'm not doing too well with this daily thing.  Anyway, today (yesterday) we had  to go buy groceries because we had absolutely nothing to eat in our house.  I have found out just how much three kids can eat over the summer, and believe me, it's ridiculous!  After we came back home we went swimming, played outside, and cleaned house.  Sounds fun right?! Carl finally made it in around 8:00 and the kids went to bed at 9.  Trey was still awake at 10:30 and made his way to the love seat soon after that.  Then, Makena got up around 12:00 and found a blanket and stayed on the couch....something is wrong with this!!! These kids are 8 and 5 (almost) and have suddenly (over the summer) decided that they want to wander through the house at night!  So now it's 8:15 a.m. and Makena is still asleep.  I'm foreseeing a slight problem next week when she goes back to school.  6:45 is going to be awfully early for her.  No pictures for Thur

5 More Days!

Makena was cruising on the road in front of our house. Trey riding his bike on the road I somehow missed getting a picture of Carlie today, but we really didn't do a whole lot.  We got up and made a quick Wal-Mart run then we came back home and played outside a little bit.  After lunch Trey and I decided to wash the car but he ended up just washing his tractor and bike because all he wanted to do was spray the water!  Nobody wanted to go swimming today so we just played here at the house.  We went to church and Carl got home around 8:15 or so.  It was a pretty uneventful day.   In fact, I wouldn't even be posting on a day like today if I hadn't already said I would this week!!  Happy Hump Day :)

Six More Days and A New Name

Well, I'm sure that most of you have noticed that I changed the name of the our blog.  I always wanted to come up with something other than the last name thing.  So the other day I was listening to Taylor Swift (not necessarily by choice, my girls LOVE her!!) sing The Best Day, and in one part of that song she sings of princesses and pirate ships, so I thought that it would be a perfect new name for our blog :)  Today was another nice day, and we actually got to enjoy the outdoors today.  For some reason I just couldn't go back to sleep after Carl left for work, so I got up and started working on my lesson plans for Trey's school.  After everyone got up and ate breakfast we went outside to do some chalking with sidewalk chalk.  Then we went in and got dressed for Mommy's photo shoot (that would be me taking pictures of them!)  By that time it was time for lunch so we came inside and Makena and Trey built a tent to lay in and watch TV.  He really is going to miss them a

7 Days And Counting....

I thought that since school starts next week I would try to post at least some pictures of what all we did the week before school started.  So here it goes: We finished up our school shopping by buying new backpacks We went swimming at Nanny and Pop's I'm not sure what Carlie called herself doing....hiding from me I guess! Makena making the "duck face" again! I gotta get her out of that. It was such a nice day today....no 105 degree temps, this evening it was in the mid 80's and we enjoyed every minute of it by playing on the fort.  Do you see Carlie's bad attitude written all over her face?!  Makena wanted to learn to ride my big bike... And she did it, all on her own :) Trey enjoyed being able to play on the fireman pole And he made it all the way down!! He's such a cheese ball!! Over all we had a wonderful day!! Even with the bad attitudes and little arguments, I'm doing my best to make the most out of this last week with my sweet girls ho

Just Because

Just because I cannot bear to look at the same pictures on this blog for another week, I'll post some new ones :)  Yesterday we went to Morrilton for the sale "Bargains Galore on 64".  Holy Cow, I never knew so many people would brave the insane heat to yard sale.  Jamie goes to church with a very nice, sweet lady, who let us set up some of our goodies in the front of her house.  We made pretty good money, and somehow we survived the heat.  Thankfully her yard was pretty shaded.  They kids put a few of their things in the sale and were pumped to make some extra money.  We had a very productive day, with the added bonus of getting to spend time with Jamie, Noah, and Ellie Kate.  Eli and Cody were in Conway helping a church member move.  Only one more week until school starts and I can't believe it--any of it!! I can't believe that Carlie will be in the 4Th grade, and Makena will be in the 3rd!!  They have 2 new teachers this year, and I am very excited to see how

To Nana's House We Go!!

Papaw T.R. with the girls Keely playing Pictionary with Riley and Leslie Keely and Makena checking out the pictures they've been snapping. Nana, doing dishes....She probably did a lot of that while she had them! Keely was posing for Makena The girls Keely, Carlie, and Makena Oh no, Makena was making the "duck face"!! The girls finally got to go stay at Nana and Papaw T.R.'s in Wynne this past week.  It was eerily quiet around here, so Trey and I stayed gone a lot too!!  They left on Thursday and came back on Saturday afternoon.  I think they stayed pretty busy and had a lot of fun!!

How We Spent A Really Hot Day

We played games on the computer, The girls played dolls (excuse Barbie's breast!), while Trey and I played a few board games (not all of these!). Trey LOVES using the Jenga pieces as logs :) Of course we had to have some ice cold lemonade, And later in the afternoon we had  ice cream cones :) We finally went swimming around 6:30 when it cooled off (if you call 100 degrees cool!). I do believe Makena found George Washington's hair :)
