Still Counting Down.....4 More Days!

So, I'm actually posting this on Friday....I'm not doing too well with this daily thing.  Anyway, today (yesterday) we had  to go buy groceries because we had absolutely nothing to eat in our house.  I have found out just how much three kids can eat over the summer, and believe me, it's ridiculous!  After we came back home we went swimming, played outside, and cleaned house.  Sounds fun right?!
Carl finally made it in around 8:00 and the kids went to bed at 9.  Trey was still awake at 10:30 and made his way to the love seat soon after that.  Then, Makena got up around 12:00 and found a blanket and stayed on the couch....something is wrong with this!!! These kids are 8 and 5 (almost) and have suddenly (over the summer) decided that they want to wander through the house at night!  So now it's 8:15 a.m. and Makena is still asleep.  I'm foreseeing a slight problem next week when she goes back to school.  6:45 is going to be awfully early for her.
No pictures for Thursday, but Friday (today) we have Open House at school, so maybe I'll get a picture of the girls with their new teachers :)  Also, the kids have a sleepover planned at Grammy's.  They are talking about eating pizza, popcorn, staying up all night, and taking the DISCO BALL :)  Hope Grammy is ready!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
