Learning Is Fun

OK, since we let the girls have a day off of school yesterday we are calling our Memphis trip a "Field Trip"! Mom and I had been trying to find somewhere to take the kids while we were there.  After discussing the zoo, The Children's Museum, and the Fire Museum of Memphis, we decided on the latter...the Fire Museum.  Carl went with us because he didn't want us walking alone and I think he enjoyed it as much as the kids!!  I knew that Trey would love it, but I wasn't too sure that they would have much for the girls.  I was very pleased that they really enjoyed it too! The sign They were a little irritated with all my picture taking. By one of the old firetrucks Trey and Makena were taking a ride (a pretend ride) on the firetruck This was a really cool simulation fire lift...it made it look like they were actually putting out a fire in a tall building and it lifted them up and down...VERY COOL! Now, Makena and Trey put out a fire! A life-like fireman carryi

It's A PARTY!!

Hanging out at the pool Trey was showing me his flip in the hot tub Carlie, before we went out to eat Waiting on the boys...Daddy and Pop! T and Pop at The Flying Fish.  He loved that swordfish above them! Makena and Carl...he looks scary in this one!! It's fun to take some time and just get away :)

Farm and Gin Show 2011

We made it through our 7Th year of going to the Farm and Gin show in Memphis.  Friday Mom and I went to the show to see Dad and Carl then let the kids swim in the pool.  We ate at The Flying Fish and then Carl, the kids, and I went back to the hotel to hang out and my Mom and Dad went and stayed in West Memphis.  We had a great time, even though Friday night proved to be a terrible sleepless night for us thanks to Trey having Diet Mtn. Dew about an hour before bed!  We met up with the Martin's from Hickory Ridge (at the show)like we do every year, and got to visit with them for a while (wish I had gotten a picture).  I think Carl likes to work the show because he gets to see people from "back home" :)  Here are a few pictures of our trip: Trey told me he had his suitcase packed!! Needless to say, I re-packed it :) Our hotel Don't ask me what this is he's standing on, but he wanted to climb up there so I could take his pictures. Trey in the bucket! Driving a fo

Ramblings Of The Day

We had team pictures taken at school yesterday. I'll have to say that Grammy is completely insane... She allows T to drive her around on the Gator! He picked me some flowers...and yes, she is in her housecoat!! He really does pretty good, but I won't be riding with him anytime soon :)   It is just crazy warm outside today and they are calling for some storms, maybe severe.  I don't like storms very much, but I really don't like being by myself with the kids when it storms!   Carl and  Dad left this morning for Memphis for the Mid South Farm and Gin Show and we will be meeting up with them tomorrow sometime.  The girls are super excited because they are getting out of school tomorrow!  They got their interim reports yesterday and had all A's on them so I didn't figure it would hurt them to miss :)   This is a tradition that we started about 7 years ago and they look forward to it every year.  Trey can't wait to go swimming in the hotel pool!! Hope every

Our Busy Weekend

Carlie was trying to get Ellie Kate to smile for me. She had just woke up when we got there. Makena loved playing with EK, too! Noah was blowing out his birthday candle. It's so hard to believe it's been 4 years since he was born. Elijah loved his cupcake...even if it did make him look like he ate a smurf :) We got Noah some roller blades and he did really good on them.  Carlie and Makena brought their roller blades too, so he really got into it, for a little while! This was the deer stand :)  I just love little boys imaginations! The country boy goes to the city!!  Noah loved his new guitar Grammy and Papa got him. He sang "Jesus Loves Me" for us.  So cute!! Makena had fun playing Frisbee with Pop. We have been one busy family over the weekend!  Friday night we went to Wynne to eat for Carl's sister, Wendy's 40Th birthday.  I didn't take my camera in, but I should have.  It was so great to get to see everyone even though Trey was awful because Unc

Spring Is In The Air!

On a play-date with Maxee.  There is a reason she has red all over her mouth, well, actually two reasons: 1.  She was staying with Grammy so she could do whatever. 2.  She wanted to put some make-up on so she could go play with Trey Munger, her best buddy (her words, not mine). They played with Zhu Zhu pets until Maxee got mad because Trey had a skunk Zhu Zhu pet and she didn't.   Darn jealousy gets the best of them every time!! After lunch and a little house cleaning, we made our way outdoors to enjoy this beautiful day :) Trey is so good at the monkey bars now... he makes it all the way across and can even drop by himself. He is also getting really good at riding his bicycle. It was a good day for digging in the sandbox too! I thought this was funny.  The dog is always pestering the poor cat, but today she was ready for her!!  Spring is definitely in the air :)

Valentine Banquet 2011

In case you can't see it, it says Love believes, hopes, and endures all things. Carlie Trey and Mrs. Darlene by the desserts :) Makena Faith Carlie and Makena with their Sunday School Teacher, Aunt Becky. Carlie gave Luke all these paper flowers :) Carl won one of the games, a coke and candy bouquet, and of course gave it to me.  Sorry Carl, that's NOT my Valentine present! The kids sang "I've Got Peace Like A River" with the hand motions of course.  They love that song! We had our Annual Valentine Banquet tonight at church.  Tonight's menu was spaghetti, salad, and yummy desserts.  The three oldest Discovery classes were the servers tonight.  They came by with menus and a took our drink and food orders. They earned points or Discovery coins for this service project.   It was so cute, and I think it was really good for them to do.  Had a great time and really enjoyed the fellowship with some of the most important people in our lives, our church family.
