Happy Birthday Pop!

Trey made this duck (out of play doh) for Pop. When the pool gets hot, you break out the water hose! Pretty good dive for a 57 year old ;) Monkey see, Monkey do! We celebrated Pop's birthday by going to eat Mexican then having cake and ice cream and gave him his gifts at home. Happy Birthday, Pop! And many more!!

Father's Day Recap

It was a beautiful weekend to celebrate Father's Day! The festivities for Carl started on Friday after Carl got off work. We went for a swim at my parents and they gave Carl some nice gifts He got flip flops, a new shirt, and a Browning beach towel for our vacation! Saturday right after lunch the kids started begging me to let them give him their gifts..so, I gave in. They were most excited to give him this boat because they knew he would never expect it. He has been talking about getting one for a while. He was surprised!! We also got him a water sprinkler (something he expected)! Took the boat for a test drive in the pool. It was fun! Carl and the kids at the pool We found a super big card! Carlie picked it out. My Dad and the kids Carl and the kids before church. This is the most awful picture of me, BUT it is a picture of me and my Dad before church. I do love that goofy goober. He is a lot more fun now than he was when I was a kid. He is one of the

Sewing Like A Pro!

If you will recall Makena got a sewing machine last year for her birthday. She had made a few things off and on throughout the year, but really just needex some guidence on getting projects started. When we found out there was a summer class for beginners she begged to sign up. So shr started her sewing classes on Tuesday. I have to admit, I was a little nervous to take her there and leave her, especially not really "knowing" the people who taught the class or the students who were going to be in there. I was relieved when we got there and saw a few people that I knew. This session they made bags. Of course she did great and really enjoyed herself. She even signed up for the second summer session in July! I am very proud of her :) I stole this one from the French Seam's Facebook page because it had the whole class. Makena was happy because she wasn't the oldest or the tallest in the class! This is her bag up close. She was being a toot and wouldn't get her

Mid-America Science Museum

To relieve some of the monotony of the long summer days, we headed to Hot Springs to meet my sister at the museum. We were there a couple of years ago during Spring Break but they have renovated since then and I have to say, I was impressed. There were a lot more exhibits to keep the kids entertained and being in the summer, it wasn't nearly as crowded. One of my kids favorite things was the Skywalk. Makena is usually shy about doing things like this, but she had the best time and didn't want to leave...the mist that you walked into on your way in and out of the Skywalk area was heavenly on a 90 degree humid day! Another kid favorite was (for lack of the correct name) the water exhibit. You know kids of all ages love to play in water, and if there are balls to throw and watch pop out, that's even better! Thankfully they put dryers on the wall...you know, for those kids who get a little too much "in" to their play! There were so many more great th

More Summer Musings

I love all of my flowers! Me and my 3 bambinos    Trey has started helping Carl mow.  It makes Trey feel big and it helps Carl out a lot!    Still working on my fitness!    Not sure what all of this brother/sister love came from on this day.  Most of the time he drives her nuts!    Sometimes she scares me to death!    Nanny has been spending time with us at the pool too!  She always keeps the pool games going :)   The second week of summer has already come and gone. We have spent a lot of time in the pool, letting Carlie drive us around(even in town...YIKES), and just hanging out! Carl has been super busy planting beans...I kinda feel guilty that he's working so hard while we are hardly working at all. I know a lot of people don't like staying at home but I do. I enjoy being here getting everything done that needs to be done! I like the simple life. I used to hate hanging out clothes when I was little, partly because I w

Summer Fun!

I have to start off with these kids of mine...I love them so, and I am very blessed to be their mom. And this one, he has my whole heart (whether he wants it of not). He is such a hard worker and has such a kind heart :) Carl surprised me with this bench he made for my front porch. He is the best! Fun times! We had the pool to ourselves this day!! Makena took Trey a towel and this is what she found! He was wearing Carlie 's shower cap. Trey had a sleepover with my mom and Makena one night when my dad was out of town. My mom sent me this...he is wearing Pop's hat! I finally upgraded my phone to a Galaxy S5Active, so of course I had to try out under water pictures! Carl freaked out when he found out I tried it, but HELLO it is supposed be able to do that :) Well, we are only 2 weeks into our summer break but it is shaping up to be a good one!
