Easter Day

On purpose we don't do the "traditional" Easter stuff at our house on Easter Day.  We don't do the"Easter Bunny" or hide eggs that morning before church.  I just feel like the emphasis on Easter morning should be  on the Resurrection of our Lord, not the Easter Bunny, eggs, candy, etc.  Oh, and by the way, I have already realized that Christmas is on a Sunday this year, and we just might change our routine a little, because holiday or not, it's still God's day.  All that info was for free...you don't have to pay a dime :) So, we did all our Easter stuff on Saturday, with the exception of the big Easter dinner at Grammy and Papa's.  This year was a little different because we went to the community center to have it since there are just so many of us now.  Almost all the cousins have at least one kid (the majority of us have 3 each!), so it was just easier on everyone to have it there.  It was a little sad, but the kids loved having a big play

Easter Part 2: Bunnies and Eggs

Trey and Carlie's bunnies, Snowball and Thumper Makena's bunny, Candy Carl, T, and Snowball :) Makena with Candy Carlie and Thumper All three kiddos with their "Easter" Bunnies :) Carlie was just about to dunk her egg He is really irritated with my pictures :) Makena wasn't posing or anything!!

Easter Part 1: Baskets, Kites, and Ducks

Carlie got a chick necklace and lots of other goodies. T got some gardening goodies They all got these cute dino eggs.  You put them in water and a dinosaur comes out.  It takes a few days do I'll post again later about the progress :) Makena Faith with her Barbie Trey sitting on his ball.  He is holding a small package of that when submerged in water, turns into boxer shorts!!  They love that kind of stuff. This was how they turned out.  He loved them!! We also decided to fly T's Toy Story 3 kite. He was a little upset when Carl told him there wasn't enough wind.  Even though it was windy, it would just come and go :( The kids with our UGLY ducks.

Good Friday/Earth Day

Here are a few picures of how we spent our Good Friday/Earth Day: On our way to the dentist.  Carlie and Makena both had baby teeth that were being stubborn and wouldn't come out, so they had to be pulled. T had his pulled on Monday and did great :)  Thanks to all who prayed for us! Someone was getting rid of this palm plant, so I gladly took it. This was our Earth Day contribution :)  I just hope it lives! We also had a picnic with some yummy fresh fruit! Hope you all had a great, Good Friday/Earth Day!!

Three Doses of Happiness

Laundry piled up, dishes in the sink, phone buzzing with many emails, toys all over the house.......sounds like an absolute perfect time to go outside and relax with my kiddos! Today has been a VERY warm day.  It probably would be more enjoyable if we didn't know that it would more than likely storm tonight!  Carlie didn't go to school today because she was up a lot last night with stomach issues.  She never vomited, but she was very nauseated and has had stomach cramps.  She hasn't felt bad all day, just off and one.  We might be going to the doctor tomorrow p.m. because Sunday night I noticed that she has a little bulge above her belly button, I wasn't concerned about it (really) until her stomach started hurting and she said that it hurt to tough.  Maybe it's nothing, but people keep mentioning hernia to me.  Please pray that she feels better soon.  Also tomorrow is the big day....academic advising.  I remember the very first time I was advised (somewhere a

Easter Preview

This is Makena's Easter dress: She is the hardest to buy for because it's hard to find plus-size clothing that is cute.  We found this one on the Old Navy website.  Boutiques don't carry true plus-size most of the time. The girls shoes.  Too bad they don't like the little white eyelet lace socks and stride rite shoes anymore.  We are still trying to decide between these two dresses for Carlie. I like them both.  The white is more fitted and straight and the green one is a bubble.  She really likes the green one, I guess I just wanted them to match a little more.  Again, long gone are the days of matching smocked dresses. I know, GET OVER IT! I guess Carlie's dress will just have to be a surprise, as will Trey's, since I haven't bought him anything yet!  Boys are pretty easy and since we're going to LR on Wednesday, I'll shop for him then. Speaking of Wednesday, please pray for me as I am going for academic advising at UALR.  I'm very excited an

Trey's Pictures

These are some of the pictures I found on Trey's camera.  He had zillions, so these are just a few! Of course he would take a picture of his tractor :) His attempt at a self-portrait Just what we need:  a million Daddy's :) Me with goofy eyes!! Makena being silly for him Cheesy Carlie :) Like I said, these are only a few of the pictures on his camera.  I think it's funny to see what all he takes pictures of.  He had some on there of the trains we go by everyday and there were a few of the overpass they are building on Park Ave. in town.  Those are the things that interest him, I guess.

I Heart Spring!

Pretty Flowers Dandelions Campfires I heart these three little people too!   And this guy :) Silly shot! (don't know where Carlie was) Hope you all are enjoying it as much as we are!!

Friday Night Frog Gigging

Last night we went frog gigging out at the farm.  It was still a little cool and the wind was awful, but we managed to get a few little ones.  This was the first time that the kids have ever been and I do believe they liked it!  They probably would have liked it more if we hadn't have had to go in the truck because 4wheelers would have been a lot more fun, but they still enjoyed it.  Next time I think Carlie wants to actually try and and gig it by herself!   They asked me if I had ever been and when I told them that Carl and I went on a few of our dates, they thought it was hilarious :)  We weren't in any hurry to get back home because all that wind knocked down a tree on a power line up the road and we were out of electricity from 5 p.m. Friday until 2a.m. this morning.  Let me just say that I am not a fan of no electricity.  If I'm camping and that's the way it's supposed to be I'm ok with it, but not when I'm at home!!  Being serious now, I am very thank

Thursday Nights At Our House

This my friends, is the favorite TV show at the Munger house on Thursday nights.  Do not call or come over at 8:00 p.m. because you will be ignored!! I can't decide if I like Junior and Willie the best or Troy Landry and team.  We love this show!! Trey and Makena were practicing shooting gators!! He's got the look :) She doesn't look like she could hit a thing shooting' like this, but she hit the target every time!! T gave up on gators and started aiming at the birds :) If we catch it, we also love to watch "Wipe Out" on Thursday nights.  To some it is stupid, but we find it quiet hilarious to watch people fall and bounce off their targets :) Carlie had went inside during all the shooting fun, but I wanted to give you and update on her plant project:  she got an A!  Oh, yeah I'm doing a dance :)  I'm so proud of both of my girls for their good work in school.  Trey has been doing pretty good on his school work and we are working on learning the L
