Parenting For His Glory

The five Mungers of 2005 This is our first picture as a family of 5. When I think back to this very moment I think of how important it was for me as a mother to have it all together.  My family was complete in the sense that no more babies were coming. I had both genders, something that I desperately wanted. I had a loving husband, a house, a minivan (oh yes I did...and I loved that thing!). I don't remember my exact goals but they were pretty shallow and were something to the tune of this: be hot momma/wife, with kids that went to the best schools (which later led to being the best at everything in their classes), wore the best clothes, and were in the popular activities, attended church for every service (at least I desired some form of Jesus for my family).  I would never have admitted it, but I wanted to be the one that everyone in my circle envied. Ya'll...that was: exhausting, unattainable, and just completely dumb! The five Mungers of 2019. So many things have happened

Weekend Rewind

Good Monday morning! Man, it was super hard to motivate myself to get up this morning.  We had such a good weekend here on the homestead.  On Friday evening my mom decided she wanted to have a weiner roast with all of the grandkids. This was the first time we had all been together in almost 4 weeks.  This picture makes me so happy!  All of my babies together ❤  Carl got in from work just as we were heading back home. Makena and Trey wanted to go out and take some pictures for a TikTok challenge, so we made that part of our Friday night backroad fun.  We woke up to cooler weather on Saturday. It was also a beautiful day. Carlie was home most of the day, but Carl was working. At this point I just take what I can get and hope that we at least get Sunday together ❤  I made hamburger vegetable soup on Saturday and it was delicious! When Carl got in from work we had a bonfire. We ended the night riding ATV's and doing more pictures for MM's video. I really don't get this.. Ready

Friday Favorites

What time is it? IT'S LINK UP TIME!!  I'm linking up again today with Andrea at  Momfessionals   for another Friday Favorites.  This has been one of the most laid back weeks we have had in a while.  Carl has been extremely busy with rice harvest.  While harvest may not be my most favorite time on the farm, this picture is my favorite so far. Carl got behind Caleb at the mill and they are both wearing the same shirt. I found that absolutely hilarious.   A few of the farm trucks got new stickers. I think they look great! Carlie has worked her booty off all week and finally gets a three day weekend!  Makena Faith is still learning how to balance studying and having fun at college and is set to take her first exams of the semester next week (feel free to say a prayer).  This leads to another favorite of the week: Here is Makena with her human foosball team! When she told me she joined an intramural sports team, I never dreamed this world be it! She loves it and tells me every week

Happy Birthday, Trey!

The birthday boy with his cinnamon roll Drinking his coffee out of his Trump mug What 15 year old asks for a Keurig? Trey! Opening presents at Nanny's! Toby got him a Mystery Machine mug😁 Happy 15th Birthday, TMan! You are one of the funniest, most passionate kid I know. The past fifteen years have gone by so fast. We love you and can't wait to see what God has in store for you.  Much Love,  Beth

Whatever Wednesday

Hey guys! It's already Wednesday....what?! We have been keeping ourselves busy here on the homestead.  Please excuse the redneck look Trey has going on here, but on Sunday we got to see our friend Luke. If you go back in the archives of our blog you will see that Luke was a very big part of our lives. His dad is our former pastor and Luke was pretty much like a cousin to my kids. He is right between Makena and Trey in age. We were so happy to be able to spend some time with him and his mom❤ Carl and Carlie worked on Labor Day and Makena was back at college, so Trey and I did school then headed to the pool.  He's so silly.  He wanted me to do a slow motion video of him slinging his hair. I'm sure it was used for a TikTok...but not before I posted it to my Insta Stories. Toby wanted to cool off too! Our friend Bonnie went into labor on Labor Day! I can't wait to get my hands him❤ Trey has been practicing for bow season. Little Craig is always watching out for his ladies.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! Today I am linking up with Andrea at  Momfessionals  for another Friday Favorites. They are my favorite couple. I love seeing the way they look at each other.  Look at this moon over the White River! This picture doesn't do it justice but it was one of my favorite sights this week. We could see it peeking through the trees when we got home.  I have gradually been getting my fall decorations out of storage. Fall and Halloween decorations are my favorite! I spy with my little eye...a red leaf 🍁  And red will always be my favorite color.  This week marked our annual Gospel Project kick-off at church. I didn't snap any pictures from our night of fun because I wasn't feeling the best (don't worry it was only allergies) and left a little early. We have done other programs for our Wednesday night kids group but The Gospel Project is my favorite by far! Next week is our first week actual classes and I can't wait to teach my preschoolers about Jesus.

Harder Than Expected

Hey guys! So glad you came back to listen to my ramblings. I will be the first to admit that I just seem to be having a hard time lately. I'm doing my best not to show it though. I still smile, laugh, teach my high schooler, attend church, clean the house...all.the.things.  So what's the problem? Change.  I, like many of you, am a creature of habit. I love routine. I crave routine. I thrive in routines. Routines are my jam.  I have been a mother for almost 20 years (wow!). My very inquisitive niece asked my just last week, "Aunt Beth, when you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?". After I thought about it for a second I told her probably a singer or actress (something ridiculous), but mostly I just wanted to be a mom. When I graduated high school and headed to college, I had my sights set on having a career as a writer. To this day I still love to write, but only in my spare time and unfortunately, not for money. Carl and I married my junior year o
