Life Lately

Life lately has been a whole lot of the same...social distancing, staying home, blah blah BLAH. Here are a few fun things we've been doing: Makena had a zoom call with her advisor and got her fall classes all set up! Things are getting real. It makes me sad and proud at the same time. Trey has started his mowing business again.  We have been getting some good use out of the Blackstone this week, cooking fajitas and chicken. Disregard my dirty kitchen window...i had to hurry and snap a picture before he noticed me. He was being supervised by Carl. We went for a ride to the farm on ATV's.  Two by two. Caleb and Carlie, Makena and Trey, and me and Carl. It was a fun but long ride (about 7 miles to get there).  It was a cold ride back home. My Grammy has the most beautiful flowers in her yard and has been fixing bouquets. She surprised me with these last week. They smell delightful! Mr. Frog has no idea that his days are probably numbere

And Then The Lights Went Out

Hey friends! There has been a lot of stuff going on here. Last weekend was Easter weekend  We knew things would be different because of the pandemic, but we couldn't have had any idea of the weirdness that was about to take place. First let me set the scene up for you. I couldn't resist making the kids a little Easter treat, even Caleb got a goodie bag.  One thing that has helped our sanity is a daily late afternoon walk to the river with my mom and Toby. He hates being on a leash. Makena gets the chore of handling him...he listens to her best! It's nice to get out and release those endorphins. Who couldn't use a little dose of happy at a time like this?! A sweet church member also put these treats in our mailbox for the kids.  And this was our Easter picture for 2020. It was pouring rain all morning long. Our services were moved indoors, despite the pandemic.  There were less than. 30 of us, so we were able to spread out. I wouldn't have nor

Weekend Recap: The Late Edition

Our Friday started out like this. I walked into the living room where Makena was doing school and saw this coke can sitting like this by her feet. When she took her feet off of the table it stayed like that, all on it's own.  Pretty witchy way to start the day! We had a parking lot service on Sunday.  Several people came, several didn't,  but we had a great service. It was good to see our church family. Sunday was a beautiful day. Makena and Trey took full advantage and went for a Ranger ride. I stole this from Carlie because I didn't have any pictures of her this weekend. This picture sums up why. These two are still spending as much time together as possible. He is my fourth kid!  Carl moved my windmill closer to the garden and had to tighten a few things up.  Trey and Carl played a lot of basketball this weekend. Mostly just shooting or trying to out do each other. Take this shot off of the trailer.  BOYS!! Carl is really enjoying hi

My Seniors

My sweet girls. This is quite the ending to both of your senior years. It breaks my heart for you both because you have both worked so hard, endured just as much as your predecessors, yet it seems you will not get the pomp and circumstance you deserve. Just know that your mom and dad are super proud of you both and that no matter what the future holds, God will always be your source of strength. I'm sure we will still find a way to celebrate you both, just a nontraditional way. It looks like Carlie will be having a drive thru graduation and as of today, the Education Alliance of Arkansas is going to try and do a homeschool graduation later in the summer. We will see how all of this actually plays out. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all of thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths."
