Carving Pumpkins

The kids have been begging me to carve their pumpkins from the Pumpkin Patch since we went 3 weeks ago, but I managed to put them off until today!  Carl was home so he was able to get in on all the fun :)  Carlie Erin.  Poor Carlie is sick and I actually made her come to the table and do this for me.  I figured it was the least I could do considering that her and her friends kept me up until 3 or 4 this morning!  She really is sick, though and even missed basketball practice Friday due to coughing.  We just can't seem to kick this stuff! Pumpkin Guts! He was really excited about FINALLY carving it!   She got it all out!   T too!   Ladies first! (l to r) Trey, Carlie, and Makena The finished products   Happy Carving! Beth

Fall Festival

Makena and Madeline playing the egg toss game Carlie and Heather were ready to play!   The kiddos were excited about singing T was playing egg toss with an older friend, Jaxon   Then it was time for another favorite, the balloon stomp!   We looked up during the Balloon Stomp and T was cheating the whole time by holding his balloon so nobody could stomp it! You can see in this picture he is still holding the orange balloon :) Next was a Balloon Relay.    Ready to Race!   We crowned a "Fall Festival Princess" The girls got to dress one boy up on their team and then we had judges to vote. This is Jaxon with the big boobs!   Addison won and he was by no doubt the ugliest princess ever!   Friday night was our annual church Fall Festival.  We had lots of fun eating chili, playing games, singing and having a devotional.  We really had a great turnout and after we finished all the games we had a lock-in with the girls at o

Stuff

Notice anything different?!  NO MORE GLASSES!! Carlie got her contacts a couple of days before we went to the Pumpkin Patch.  It was a little rough at first, learning to put them in and take them out, but just today she started putting them in without my help :)  She's growing up way too fast.  Makena doing one of her moves.....she loves doing stuff like this...ALL THE TIME!! Trey got his first library card this week!  He was so excited to be able to check his books out with his own library card :)  He was being a little silly after we left, but that's just T!   This has been sort of an off week for me.  I was sick and did't go into work until Friday, and still I'm not 100%.  Makena has been fighting a sore throat and cold and missed school on Monday...and basketball practice.  Yes, basketball practice started on Monday (for Pee Wee) and Varsity started on Thursday.  Carl has been SUPER busy trying to get beans cut so the wheat can be planted.  The ot

Fall Is In The Air!

The mums have arrived!  I always buy my mums from our local chapter of FFA.  I figure its a pretty good program to support :) I have a couple of warmers that I like to keep going at the house, but instead of buying the expensive scentsy wax bars, I have found that these bars from Better Homes and Gardens work just as well, and I've started mixing the "flavors".  Makena walked in from school one day and said, "yummy, it smells like fall in here" :) We've also done a little decorating inside!  The kids love all the fall decorations we have collected over the years.  Some of them the kids have made (like the small pumpkin on the left), some of them we have had since they were little, and I have bought a few newer things like the big pumpkin.  There are just little touches of fall/Halloween all throughout the house! Since it finally feels like Fall, Carl decided to make some chili today!  On this ugly, cold day, I'm just going to throw the hea

There's just something about a dirt pile! T was Daddy's helper   I was playing with the picture grid on my phone during Farm Safety Day!  It was "Makena Day"!!   This one was taken at Eli's birthday party.  The girls dressed EK up...you can't see her feet, she has on high heels!   Oh, how I HATE homework time!  This picture was taken the same day as the dirt picture of T, but instead of being outside playing they were stuck inside doing homework.  It hasn't been really bad so far.  There have been only a couple of nights that Carlie has worked on homework for 2 hours.  I always feel so bad for them when that happens. A couple of weeks ago the girls went to DeWitt's Homecoming with my parents and Grammy because Maxee Parker was an attendant.  They had a good time, but they have finally come to the same conclusion that the rest of us have known for years....DeWitt people are just weird.     I know this post was kind of
