More Birthday Celebrations!

As I mentioned in my previous post, Grammy had her birthday on Friday and Saturday was Papaw T.R.'s birthday!  We had WAY too much cake and ice cream this weekend :)  All the kids (and Nanny) helped blow the candles out :) Saturday we headed to Jonesboro for T.R.'s birthday.  Carl had to go check some more water at the farm (AGAIN!) and then he had to help the men at the church clean up (revival this week), and we finally got to leave around 11:15.  It was a great day with lots of good food, swimming, and visiting.  Pool Basketball was a BIG hit! Nana had to show us her moves too! Trey found a buddy in Kyle Makena was soakin' up some sun! Kyle showed Trey how to make a Mohawk...well, he tried anyway! Carl and T.R. were pondering something! Makena and Keely had fun playing in the pool together T, just being T Papaw T.R.'s birthday cake Poor Brock couldn't wait for us to leave so he could get out and play! We got home around 8 and all the kids were in bed

Wednesday Loves

Wow, I can't believe it's Wednesday again!  Here are a few things I'm loving this week: I absolutely love this cute little cupcakes. I want to try and make them soon :) I'm loving this idea that came from Merideth .  Trey and I are going to make it for his first day of school.  I know his teacher very well, since both of the girls had her :) I love this Razorback plate from the Magnolia Lane Collection that I got me for my birthday! WOO PIG SOOIE!! And finally, I'm loving my grandmother, or as my kids call her, Grammy. She will be turning 76 on Friday, and I am so blessed to have her be an active part of my life, and my kids lives.  We love you Grammy! What are you loving this week? Beth

From Bad To Good

Oh, Monday why do you have to live up to your bad name!  No, it really hasn't been a bad day, just a long day.  On the way home from our date night, I realized that my drivers license expired on Sunday :(  I absolutely HATE having my picture taken for my drivers licence.  There has to be some kind of law somewhere that says that those pictures have to be bad because I've never seen a good one.  Well, I didn't see one today either!   And bless her heart, the girl that waited on me at the Revenue office had the personality of a ground rattler.... seriously ....AND I didn't know that you have to pay 20 bucks to have the darn picture made....grrrrr.  Bad morning, but thankfully the day got better :) Carl came home to eat lunch with us and after we got finished we decided to walk over to Ms. Lena's Pie Shop to get a piece of pie. This is why I can't lose weight: Makena and Trey got blueberry cream cheese pie, me and Carl got chocolate pie, and of course Carlie g

A Weekend of Celebrations!

After we took our trip to Morrilton on Friday, my house was in some major need of a good cleaning, so that is what went on  here on Saturday morning.  Carl had to work so I cleaned and cleaned, then he came home and mowed, so I cleaned and did laundry some more!  I'll be the first to admit that my life has been completely chaotic and unorganized for the whole summer, so with the kids school getting ready to start, and my school wrapping up, I thought it would be he perfect time to get organized!  I got the idea to make a "master planner" from this site.   I gathered the stuff I needed from Staples and was happy with how it turned out.  I have a few more things and maybe a little bling, then I'll show you the finished product.  I'm super excited about it :) Now back to the weekend: Saturday afternoon we all went swimming and had a lot of fun with water balloons in the pool.  Even Pop quit being a grouch for a while and played along.  He usually doesn't like u

Friday Trip to Morrilton

Today we took a quick little trip to Morrilton to pick my mom up and to also see the Simpson's for a while.  They were so sweet and had a little birthday party for both me and Makena.  We had pizza and cupcakes :)  Oh the joys of living in the city limits where you can actually get pizza delivered...sometimes I wish I lived "in town"! Look at these two!  Ellie Kate couldn't decide between her pizza and cupcake, so she ate a little of one, then a little of the other! These were taken with my phone and I'm too lazy tired to edit them.  Makena was eating her pizza.  I think it is now her favorite food :)  We won't mention that they had it 3 times over the past week.  We'll do better next week! Jamie made this for me for my birthday.  She has become quite the little Martha Stewart!  I have a stand that I am going to put it on. She also made these cups....oh, wait I'd better say that Cody made the cups!!  He was sure to let us know who did it yesterday

Wednesday Loves

Okay, so I have seen this on a few blogs and decided to join in: I am loving that we can spend most afternoons like this: I am loving those few moments when my kids are getting along and playing together (nicely) I am SO loving that our local girl, Kristen Glover won Miss Arkansas! I totally LOVE this And last but certainly not least, I am loving that I get a date night with my awesome husband this weekend for my birthday :) What are you loving?

Just Trey

This post is just Trey stuff.  Some of the things that he comes up with sometimes just cracks me up.  He's all boy, but being raised with two older sisters, he has a softer side too (dressing up his animals in baby clothes!).  He loves spending time with his Daddy which brings me to my pictures.  Sunday Carl had to go out to the farm and check some bean water and Trey really wanted to go with him, so Carl told him to ask me.  So I let him go (the first time he's ever been out there with Carl alone).....I was a little nervous.  Of course Carl is more than capable of watching him, I'm just not sure he watches him as closely as me!  So he went and had the best time.  He is still talking about stuff he did :)  When they got back Carl showed me pictures he had taken with his phone of their little adventure.  I couldn't believe it when he said, "I thought you might want to put them on your blog or something"!  He did good :) He was checking out the water Doing a l

Hadlee and Papa eating cake and ice cream Luke was eating his pudding. Kena, Trey, and Hadlee Today my sweet Makena turned 9!  She's been counting down for about 2 weeks now!  We went to town this morning and she bought some stuff with her birthday money.  She's been getting cards with money in them all week long and she has
