Back To Homeschool 2023

Well I have made it.  This is my very last year to homeschool because my baby is a SENIOR! The left was his first day of kindergarten and the right was his first day of school. My handsome cowboy My school room. I said a couple of posts back that I was going to have a school room this year.  I also thought I was going to have the time to actually fix it like I wanted to.  We ran out of time and the heat has just been horrendous here.  I am pretty happy about having a spot to keep all of the stuff and not having to pick it up all the time because we are schooling in the living room or dining room.  I only wish I had this when I was homeschooling all three of my kids. Our first week of school was great!  Trey wakes up early enough to do his chores with the chickens and then he gets started with school.  He is taking Bible, English 12, Physics, Consumer Math, American Government, and Speech this semester.  A few classes will change next semester. He grabs lunch and then heads off to work

Weekend Rewind: First Birthday Edition

Look who celebrated her first birthday over the weekend: My sweet little Wren! I couldn't have imagined how much of a joy that she would be.  She loves Elmo and dogs!  She is walking, squealing, and saying a few words.  I'm still waiting for her to say, "BeBe".  She tries to mouth it :) She loves to be outside swinging and riding on the Ranger.  Cutting teeth are rough on her (and her mama!) but she is the absolute sweetest thing in the world, and she has her BeBe and Pappy wrapped around her little finger. BeBe and Pappy with Wren. Poor Pappy was looking a little rough. They are just beginning to harvest rice and the temps are over 100 degrees with heat indexes around 110. That's miserable for anyone! He didn't get to stay very long but we'll give him a pass this time! She LOVED the cake! Of course, her theme was Wren's World (Elmo)! The highchair she is sitting in was my dad's (65 years ago!) Her one-year pictures were absolutely gorgeous! This l

One last Move-In

Well today was the day that we moved Makena back to college for the last time! It is unbelievable that this is her senior year of college.  It seems like just yesterday that I was so happy to be wearing a mask (Fall of 2020) so I could hide the ugly crying from leaving my baby far from home.  Each year things have gotten easier.  It helps that she knows people and has friends and loves her roommates.  I am so proud of her.   Senior 2024 Welcome Home Tigers :) Makena as a Freshman Saying goodbye for a few days :) The picture she sent me on the first day of classes! 💕💕💕💕💕 Happy first week of classes! Much Love, Beth

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! We had one of the most relaxing weekends that we've had in a while!  Carl was off all weekend!  On Friday night we watched Wrenley while Carlie and Caleb went out to eat with some friends.  They weren't very late, but she was so ready to see her mama and go to bed. I sure love my little blondie! Is there anything sweeter than a freshly bathed baby in snuggly jammies?!  Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with that sweet baby.   I really can't believe that she will be one in just a few weeks! Saturdays are for fun! Makena loves driving the jet boat. Relaxing at the river! The three stooges😂 Sundays are for church and for Seniors! Look at my little baby! This was his first day of kindergarten.  He was super pumped to go to school :) And now I'm left with this! I am proud of him.   He is funny and has the sweetest heart (no matter how much he tries to play the tough guy). I am going to savor every moment  that I have with him this year :) That&#
