Happy Birthday, Papa

Today we celebrated Papa's (my grandpa) 88th birthday! I am so thankful that he has been there to teach me things and is now teaching my kids and telling them the same stories that he used to tell me. Carlie and I picked up a cake and we had a little party with just me and the kids, my mom, and Grammy. He enjoyed himself. Happy Birthday Papa, and many more!! Much Love, Beth

Homeschool Musings and More!

Carlie Erin, working hard on her Algebra 2 Makena Faith does NOT love Physical Science (yet).  Hopefully she will like it a little more as the year goes on !! Trey had his first soccer practice on Tuesday evening.  He loved it!  I think it is so great that he is able to have some time with "the boys" (there are about 4 girls on his team also, but he mostly hangs with the boys)! We took about half a day off from school on Tuesday and went to Little Rock with my mom.  We made a Sam's run, stopped by Academy, and then we went to the mall.  I have been needing a new fall scent.  I actually had this one last year and I loved it.  So marshmallow pumpkin latte it is! We started the Gospel Project at Church on Wednesday night. Our lessons are about Elijah for a while.  This week it was about his confrontation with evil King Ahab.  I found this cute craft on Pinterest for my kids to do.  They loved it!  They just thought it was too cool

Ramblings From Our Week

Trey made this primary color wheel in Art one day. He wasn't interested in taking a picture, so we compromised :) One afternoon I just decided I wanted to put a few fall things out.  I didn't go overboard because I know it is still a little early. I also found a new yummy fall scent for my warmer and started using it. One of the kids said, "It smells like Halloween in here!".  Maybe I'm a little premature. Trey got great news that his soccer practice starts this week, so we had to go buy a few things!  I think all that we still need are a pair of soccer cleats. The flowers Trey surprised me with. We all had a great week.  I didn't get many pictures of the girls because they weren't very interested in me taking pictures!  I will try to do better this next week.  Carlie has decided that her favorite subject so far is Spanish!!  The one thing that we were both worried about :)  Her next favorite is U.S. History beca

Back to School

Nanny and Grammy came by and took their annual picture with the kids. Only Nanny just took a picture of the kids and not with them. Carlie, Makena, and Trey were pumped for their first day of homeschool! Carlie watching her Bible video See how happy he is :) Makes me happy too!! For his Science class we made a living flower exhibit. Here it is with the flowers in it.  He made it himself, I only supervised! This is something that he definitely wouldn't have gotten to do in school. He enjoyed it a lot.  Well, we made it!! Our first day of homeschool was a success.  We had a few minor technical difficulties first thing this morning with Carlie's computer not wanting to play her video's but other than that it went smoothly. The kids seemed to enjoy it.  We talked about their video teachers and the kids in their classes as well as one teacher that Makena thought was "adorkable" --her words, not mine! The girls
