Goofing Off

I don't even know what these blankets are called....they are like pillow pets, only blankets!  They got them somewhere for Christmas.  Anyway, they were being so silly and decided to be their animals: Bunny (Carlie), Giraffe (Trey), and Unicorn (Makena). I had a GIANT bunny in my house :) Trey needed to relax after a hard day at school :) Today was back to school for us, and believe it or not Trey didn't even complain about it!  He has been adjusting pretty well to getting up and going.  I think he actually enjoys it.  He just has a few things to learn about what is and what is not acceptable at school.   He did get a stick pulled for the first time today for being out of his chair.  He said that he thought he was supposed to be up because the video teacher said to get up.  I don't know.   He is learning though because I ask him everyday what he learned and he'll tell me.  Today he recited is first poem: "The Birdie With The Yellow Bill".  It was so cute to

The Puppies Are Here!

Our sweet little dog, Happy had her puppies yesterday and the kids are SO excited!  We knew we didn't see her when we were leaving for school yesterday and I when I got home I looked everywhere for her and couldn't find her.  The first thing they asked when I picked them up yesterday was if Happy was back.  As soon as we got home the search was on!  We found them (and Happy) under the house and Carl got them out when he got home.  She had four, but one didn't make it :(  So now we have three, one for each kid I guess (even though I say we aren't keeping them!).  We have to find good homes for them, so if you know anyone who wants a rat terrier, I'll be giving them away in 6 weeks :)  Here are some pictures of the proud mama and her pups: They look like little rats!  There are two boys (born without tails) and one girl. Happy was so tired One of the kids took this...probably Carlie! I couldn't post pictures of the dogs on here without posting a couple of the

Wednesday Loves

Here's what I'm loving this week: I'm loving that this little guy is having a great first week of school! I'm loving that I get to spend as much or as little time as I want at the school helping out :) I'm loving that someone put this picture of my Great Grandmother on Facebook. She was such an inspiration to many people.  She had a heart of gold. I am LOVING these TOMS!!  I love TOMS anyway, but these are super cute...a different color, though! I'm also loving that I'll have Carl at home for another weekend thanks to the rain :) What are You loving?

Trey Goes To Kindergarten

Eating his breakfast...oatmeal, toast, and apple juice in his Cars plate, bowl, and cup:) The whole family was ready to go! I wish I had taken a closer picture of Carlie's shirt.  It said: I'd like to apologize now for my behavior brother! When she bought it, she knew she was going to wear it on T's first day of school! Such a cutie Once we got to school he was quiet and very obedient. He was ready to start the video! Well today was FINALLY the day that we've been waiting for.  Trey went to school :) Carl went to school with us this morning and came to eat lunch with us.  Since I helped today I watched him as he interacted with all the other little kids.  It was so sweet how all the other kids in the class helped the Kindergartners today.  Mrs. Odom told me that during story time Trey told some knock knock jokes!  He's already trying to be the class clown!  During recess I looked on the stage and saw Trey giving a little first grader a nuggey....then the other

Discovery Kick Off

Playing volleyball Trey with Bryer, Jeremy, and Cid Trey and Blaine playing water balloon toss The kids loved the water balloons Piper, Anthony, Carlie, and Makena waiting to catch a water balloon. Yes, it's almost 100 degrees and we are cooking our hot dogs over a fire!! Spiky Cash! Everyone was listening to the devotional given by Pop We had a visitor...someone was trying to give away this cute little puppy and Carlie actually wanted it!  She isn't so scared of dogs now :) We didn't bring it home, though! Carl and Hayden were looking at something probably water balloons...they were flying everywhere! You are never too old to blow bubbles :) It was such a fun afternoon at our Discovery Kick Off party and we had a good turn out.   They loved the water balloons most of all I think, but volley ball was a close second.  We played games, ate hot dogs, chips, and marshmallows, then we had our devotional and played some more.  We have been on "summer break" for

This And That

Well, we made it through our first week of school!  I say we because prior to Monday we had all been sleeping until 8 or 8:30.  Needless to say 6:15 comes WAY too early :(  By today it had already moved to 6:30!  Trey made the adjustment with us this week, although I let him sleep until 7:00, it was still early for him.  Next week will be his week :(  Last night I pulled out the videos of him when he was a baby and I didn't cry then, but thinking about it now makes me want to.  I even watched the dreaded video of the day he was born, I say that because it took them a while to get him to breathe.  It gives me chills every time I see it.  My mom has still to this day not watched it.  It was very scary.  Anyway, he's alive and well and VERY full of himself lately.  We had a little incident on Wednesday with him taking off on his bike down the road ( I was walking behind him and he was supposed to stop at a certain spot but kept going leaving me way behind).  He tried to say tha

Happy First Day of School!

Well, today was the first day of school for my sweet girls.  I don't think either of them slept much last night because of their anticipation of the new school year :)  I remember doing the same thing!  Of course we were up and out the door (for pictures) in record time....don't be too hopeful, it doesn't usually last past the first week.  Grammy and Nanny both came to the house to get their own pictures of the girls.  Trey kind of wanted to go to school today, too, but then he enjoyed his time home alone today.  Nobody to fight with, nobody to tell him he couldn't play the Wii, nobody saying "Get out of our room, Trey!".  You get the picture!  Now here are a few of the pictures I got this morning: They were so ready to leave! My 4th grader, Makena My 5th grader, Carlie Nanny took this picture....and Carlie and Makena are looking at the dog while Trey and I are cheesing away.  Note to self: don't wear this shirt again it makes my arms look fat :( They

Back To School Photo Shoot

The girls have been begging me since yesterday to take some pictures of them in some of their new outfits but yesterday the weather was kinda iffy as to if was going to rain (never did) and we would have had to fix hair before....and that just didn't really fit into our day, so I told them after church would work.  I would have never guessed how sleepy I would have been after not enough sleep due to Carlie's stomach issues and the fact that I took sinus medicine before I went to bed thought I was going to bed at 11:00.  Needless to say,  could hardly keep my eyes open during church.  I was seriously thinking of finding an empty room and taking a nap until church was over!  Instead, I waited until after we ate lunch (leftovers from last night!) and cleaned up.  I think we finished in record time and I was snoozing away by 12:45 :)  I could hear the kids, so I got up around 2:30 and the first thing Makena asked me was "Can we take pictures now?".  So here are a few of

Fun Family Day

Today was such a fun day.  We spent it cleaning up inside and out, visiting with some friends, riding bikes, roller blading, and ended it with a nice little "back to school" cookout with Nanny & Pop and Grammy and Papa at our house and then a brief 4 wheeler ride.  Carl got to be home with us all day today, so it was just a nice day.  We got a lot done, but at our own pace :) Miss Prissy....she is great at roller blading.  Makena is very cautious.  She doesn't really like doing it on our concrete because it isn't completely smooth.  She loves riding her new bicycle though! Away she goes! This would be Speedy! I guess I didn't get any pictures of T today, but if you look above you can kind of see him in the background on a scooter.  He doesn't really try to roller blade yet and that is completely fine with me because we all know how accident prone he is!  I don't think that I ever blogged about Open House that we had on Friday.  Carl went with us

LOL!

These are the, umm...squash from our garden!! This year we didn't get a garden planted until July...right before the heat wave started. I don't know why we even bothered because it didn't get watered like it should have.  Carl just wasn't "into" it this year :(  But to his defense, he did try a different location and there were some awful weeds that kept growing up through everything.  So, lesson learned.  Next year it will be in our regular spot and it will get planted earlier, or not at all!  I just couldn't help but laugh at these when he brought them in  :)

A New Dog and The Best Dad

I really didn't mean for this picture to be first, but since it loaded that way, this is our new dog, Sam.  He is our "guard dog" and the kids absolutely love him! See, the kids adore him...even Carlie :) Carl and T on the old tractor. Trey loves sleeping in this shirt, even though it ends up looking like a gown on him.  I had to capture this moment on camera! Carlie and Makena were actually playing together.  Makena is not really a baby doll kind of girl (never has been), Carlie on the other hand is struggling to give them up.   She says when Ellie Kate turns two she is going to give her doll to her....we'll see :) These are their babies: Caroline and Devin.  Carlie wanted me to take a picture of them.  Caroline is Carlie's and Devin is Makena's. Today was pretty much a lazy day.  Carl got off work around 9 this morning because it rained somewhere around 3- 3 1/2 inches over night so they didn't have to water anything....they were actually pumping w
