Goofing Off

I don't even know what these blankets are called....they are
like pillow pets, only blankets!  They got them somewhere for
Christmas.  Anyway, they were being so silly and decided to be
their animals: Bunny (Carlie), Giraffe (Trey), and Unicorn (Makena).

I had a GIANT bunny in my house :)

Trey needed to relax after a hard day at school :)

Today was back to school for us, and believe it or not Trey didn't even complain about it!  He has been adjusting pretty well to getting up and going.  I think he actually enjoys it.  He just has a few things to learn about what is and what is not acceptable at school.   He did get a stick pulled for the first time today for being out of his chair.  He said that he thought he was supposed to be up because the video teacher said to get up.  I don't know.   He is learning though because I ask him everyday what he learned and he'll tell me.  Today he recited is first poem: "The Birdie With The Yellow Bill".  It was so cute to hear him say it :)
The girls are doing great too.  They both have LOADS of homework most every night and Makena is telling me that she wants to go to public school because they don't hardly ever have homework.  That isn't an option.  They are both making all A's so far :)
Carl hasn't started rice harvest yet, but unless it rains it will be tomorrow or Wednesday.  I want them to hurry and get started so they can be done, but I always dread being a single mom for those weeks.  Thankfully we always have Sundays together :)
I am thoroughly enjoying my time at school...almost as much as I enjoy my two days at home alone :)  I work with some great people that are becoming great friends.
I realize that all of the above seemed pretty random, but I just wanted to give an update on what we've been up too.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
