Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for the first Friday Favorites of 2025!

Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though!

Snug as a bug in a rug!

She loves her Ky Ky

Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place!
That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul!

The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few days of lunch.
Here is the recipe if you're interested:
3lb. ground beef
1lb. William's sausage (hot is excellent if you like to spice things up!)
1/2 yellow onion sliced
2 packets of Williams Tex Mex seasoning
1 can of Rotel
1 can of Diced tomatoes
2 cans of dark red kidney beans
2quarts of tomato juice

Brown your hamburger meat and sausage with onion. Add the browned meat with onion into a Dutch oven, then add Rotel, diced tomatoes, chili seasoning, and tomato juice. Drain the dark red kidney beans and add them to the pot. Let simmer for at least 2 hours (the longer the better).
We usually top with sour cream and cheese. Some like crackers, but I'm a HUGE fan of cornbread with mine!

Another favorite is Maggie Mae. She is always tearing things up and having little accidents in our house, but she is the sweetest puppy. Trey got her fixed last week, and she is finally feeling better!

My final favorite goes to this group. We had a good time on NYE drawing each other. None of us are artists, but we had a blast!
We were missing a few of our people

We don't have any big plans for the weekend. Tonight, we are having a Prayer Board Party at Carlie's with my girls, my mom, my sister and my niece. I'm not real familiar with a prayer board, but I like the concept. We shall see!

Much Love,
Beth

It sounds like you have had a lovely few weeks. Wrenley sounds like such a sweetheart.
That chili looks so good, that would go down well here with it being so cold out.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
