Weekend Fun

Good morning friends!  I hope that you all had a terrific weekend.  We had a pretty typical weekend around here.  Late night rides, weenie roasts/bonfires, bowling, and church.  The temperatures are finally lining up with the beginning of fall, so we were able to (comfortably) spend more time outside.                                                                            Saturday morning bowling. Trey bowled with a *gasp* girl today. Needless to say he may have been a little distracted. He scored pretty well on the first one, but the second one sucked! Makena came home on Saturday afternoon after spending the morning serving the community of Arkadelphia with her school.  she served with the History department (she is a public History major) Ouachita is such a great school! Carl was cutting rice all day on Saturday.  We are used to him never being around for the fun during harvest, but we always miss him.   Saturday was also National Daughters Day. I sure love my two girls.  They ar

Happy Birthday, Trey!

How in the world did my baby grow up so fast?!  It seems like yesterday that they told us that we were having a boy!  I'll never forget how tight Carl held my hand.  Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't have mattered to him if we had three girls, but he was super excited when he found out he was a boy.  Then when we were deciding on a name, Carlie decided that we should name him Coyote.  For real...like when we told her at the hospital that his name was Trey, she cried crocodile tears. When we brought him home from the hospital, Makena could hardly keep her hands off of him.  She was so proud to be a big sister. And just like that he grew up.  He is a (mostly) responsible, sweet, hilarious kid.  He is always willing to help others and we all joke about how he is a friend to all of the older men around the community.  He marches to the beat of his own drum, and doesn't care about the opinions of others (don't know where he got that!). Here are a few pictures of from his

Labor Day Weekend

Happy Tuesday!  It's always fun to start the week off on a Tuesday, isn't it?  It seems for me that those four day weeks come back to bite you in one way or another.  This morning we have already had technical difficulties but thankfully they were a quick fix.  We had such a pleasant Labor Day weekend. Carl was off early on Friday (5-ish) and didn't have to work on Saturday (or Sunday, but we don't work on Sundays).  It was a surprise for sure!  We went riding around on Friday night and even had our very own cowboy chauffer! Our Cowboy Chauffer Makena went to a Traveler's baseball game on Friday night so she didn't come home until Saturday morning.  Carl and Trey were mowing in town when she came in, but me and Boone were super happy to see her.  Boone was so happy that Makena came home! Makena finally got her yearbook last week She hates her picture, but I think she's cute! After the boys finished mowing, we headed for some R&R at the river...kind of.
