What's Up Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with  Shay  and  Sheaffer  for another What's Up Wednesday. What We're Eating I have been in a dinner slump lately.  This has been one of the busiest months that we have had all year and I have had a hard time just getting into the whole homemade, good housewife thing.  This chicken fajita mix from  Sam's  has saved the day more than once this month!  Add a colored bell peppers and some homemade queso and voila! Trey and I have also been enjoying this Cajun Trail Mix from  Walmart What I'm Reminiscing About Since April is the month of Easter, let's just go back to one of my favorite Easters with my kids.  I believe the kids were 8, 6, and 3.  I just love how the girls are holding Trey's little hands. This was before I even thought about higher quality photos (obviously).  Ah, memories! What I'm Loving I am loving all the time I have gotten with my family over the past month.  Like I said, it has been busy (pretty much non-stop) but

Easter 2022

"Christ the Lord is risen today, hallelujah!" Happy Easter, friends!  I had high hopes that we would have a beautiful, warm-ish holiday since it fell in mid-April.  That was not the case, however.  It was wet and pretty chilly. We had a pretty low-key day, after a full morning of church and lunch with family at my parent's.   Blue was the color this year! We didn't get a full family picture this year because we snapped this picture before Sunday School and Carlie and Caleb didn't show up until church (when a ton of other people did), so we didn't have to the chance to get one.  Makena took a few pictures around our little church. My mom, playing the piano. I did get a picture of all the "kids". Carlie is starting to show a little bit.  My sweetheart, aka "Pappy" The parents-to-be: Gage and Carlee and Carlie and Caleb. And they are both having little girls :) I took my camera over to my mom's and didn't even take one single picture

Arkansas Youth Conference 2022

Look who greeted us as we walked in :) Part of our group eating at The Flying Fish. Trey, Noah, and the adults sans me and Tim. Our group minus Tim and Jamie. Such a great environment. "Renown" lead the worship this year. Brent Crowe was our speaker for the weekend. Jered Hall was the illusionist/our entertainment. The kids really enjoyed him. Makena and the Ascend group from Arkadelphia There are two kinds of people in this world:  The kind who sleep great in hotels (left) and those who get no sleep because of the first group snoring so loudly (right) .   Yes, he does snore at home but for some reason it is worse when we have to stay in a hotel room. I think he was the only person in the room that slept.  When I got up, Trey was on the floor and Makena had on her earbuds and sleep mask.   The "theme" for this year's conference was Focus  "Let your eyes look directly forward." Proverbs 4:25 The conference was split into four sessions: 1. It is possib

State Bowling Tournament 2022

The Rice Bowling Center Strikers Cheering our boy on! His awards this year.  We spent the better part of the weekend at the Arkansas State Youth Bowling Tournament with Trey.  He bowled with his team on Saturday afternoon and then again in doubles and singles on Sunday morning.  While I never enjoy having to wake up super early (we had to leave our house at 5:30 on Sunday morning), it was fun to watch him.  Doubles was not our friend this year.  I am blaming the timing (lol), but he did awesome in singles.  We had the pleasure of taking two of his teammates with us to the tournament on Sunday.  I am glad I only have to feed one teenage boy on a regular basis.  Those boys can EAT! Makena had Tiger Serve day for school on Saturday and the history department put on a workshop at the cemetery in Arkadelphia.   After her workshop was over, she drove to Little Rock to watch Trey.  She ended up coming home with us.  Carlie and Caleb invited us to stop by and eat dinner with them.  It was very
