Surgery Day!

Well, today was finally the day of Carl's surgery!  He was a little nervous, but he made it through just fine (and so did I).  I'll be glad when things are back to normal around here.  And, yes, Carl will too! Here is a picture of him before they took him back.  He was a little "drugged" at this time!   Post surgery has been great!  He had just a little nausea on the ride home, but never got sick.  I was worried about getting him up the steps and in the house, but he did it fine on his own with his crutches.  He has been talkin' crazy and his short term memory stinks, but when all of that wears off, he'll be back to Carl.   Beth

Party Rockin'

Today we spent most of the day on the road between our house and Russelville.  It is a pretty long trip and to be honest, the kids were a lot better riders when they were younger!  But we did it all so we could party with Noah David!  I love my Little Red, and can't believe he's about to be 6 years old!  Nothing beats your nephew calling you and telling you that he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior!  I got that call last week, and I am so proud of him.  I know his parents are too :) Trey was so excited that he was getting to play with Noah, that he told his class as part of his Show and Tell.  The Boys    Me and the little princess    Makena made Noah a wallet out of duck tape :)    Noah at his John Deere Party. The Girls Carlie and Ellie Kate   Happy Birthday, Noah David!  We love you're little redheaded self to the moon and back!   Beth

New Furniture and An Update

Today we got new furniture!! I was so happy.  Of course right now we have all these rules about no eating, doing homework (pen & pencil marks), no sitting on knees..... all that good stuff.  I'm sure we will eventually get lax on those rules, but for now, we are being very particular and the kids are finally old enough that they can understand why.  They are happy to have them too :)   Trey thought it was pretty comfy! On our way to Little Rock And here she is....Miss Elusive.  She always seems to escape my pictures!!!   ***Oh, Carl had his MRI on Tuesday and he has a torn meniscus :( We go to the orthopedic doctor on Monday afternoon.  Please continue to pray!     Beth

Happy Valentine's Day!

We started celebrating Valentine's Day on Wednesday.  Since I don't work on Thursday's, Carl sent me flowers to school on Wednesday.  I thought it was very sweet.  It had a necklace with it, too!  That night he gave the kids their Valentine's and me, my other present.  He did a great job picking out presents (by himself).  He bought the girls and me bracelets :) And Trey got a truck with a horsetrailer.  Everybody loved their gifts!  We also had a Valentine's party at Discovery.  We watched a Veggie Tale movie on love and had popcorn, cookies, and drinks.  It was a nice break from constantly doing work.  All of the kids had the opportunity to learn John 3:16.  Believe it or not, some of them didn't know it. Thursday was Valentine's Day and Carlie's orthodontist appointment. We had to get a new retainer, since she has had her other one since 3rd grade!  A lot has changed about her in three years, so I can imagine her mouth has changed too! At our schoo

Happy Birthday, Carl!

I had so many plans for Carl's birthday.  We were gonna go out and eat before our ballgame and come home and have a mini-party, BUT he had an accident at work on Wednesday!  He is on crutches, or "crunches" as Trey calls them, and is unable to put any weight on his leg.  He can move his ankle all around, but it's more in the knee area.  We have an appointment tomorrow because it isn't any better.  So, for his birthday, he stayed at home with Trey while the girls and I went to their ballgame. After we came back we gave him his presents and had cupcakes and ice cream!  It wasn't the ideal birthday that I had planned, but it all worked out fine :)  Happy 33rd Birthday, Carl!!! We love you SO much and can't wait for you to get better! The birthday boy being photo bombed by T!   Beth

More Basketball!

I haven't been a very good picture taker at basketball games this year.  Mommy fail!  On the 25th of January we were out of school for Parent Teacher Conference but had a game with Ridgway Christian School in Pine Bluff.  It was a very good, close game and we won by like 2 points!  The girls were so excited!  Poor Trey is just tagging along being, well, Trey! The girls during a time-out at Ridgway We have two more games left after our game tomorrow night and honestly I'm glad, BUT, it has been a fun season and I'm so proud of these girls.  They've come a long way since last year....not to say they don't have a long way to go, but we are SO much better this year :)   Like I said, Trey is just Trey!  Gotta love him and all of his silly, boyness!   Beth
