Trick or Treating 2010

Carlie was entertaining Trey, Noah, and Eli at the family reunion today. Trey didn't think the reunion was too much fun! Ready to trick or treat Makena the tiger at Grammy's house Carlie the Cat woman Trey as Mario!!  Love the stache :) Tiger lady getting into her candy bucket! Today was a busy day.  For lunch we went o DeWitt to a family reunion.  I got to see lots of people that I hadn't seen in years, some that I see often, and some that I'm sure I haven't ever met before.  The kids had a good time playing with there cousins, but never really ventured outside of our little group to play with other kids.  After we left there we came back home where I got a little housework done and a little rest before we left to go trick or treating.  We got lots of candy and were back home by 7:30.  We got WAY too much candy.  I will slowly be tossing it until it's all gone :)  Tomorrow will be potluck at church then I get to help Makena work some more on her Animal S

Our Friday

Makena and Noah playing on the hay Cody and Trey Carlie and her best friend, Amber Uncle Carl holding Eli Trey was waiting to play the suitcase game Makena and Trevor were the winners in the balloon stomp Tonight we had our annual Fall Festival at church.  We didn't have quite the turn out this year as we have had in the past, but that didn't matter to the kids!  We ate chili, went on a hayride, played some games, sang a few songs, and had a cake walk, and a devotional.  It was such a good time of fellowship.  The girls were out of school today for Parent Teacher Conferences.  I wasn't at all worried about meeting with their teacher....they had all A's again :)  Have I ever mentioned how proud I am of them.  They are such smarties!!  Carlie is having to work a little harder this year, but she is still doing great.  Trey had a dentist appointment today in Stuttgart.  This was just to get his teeth cleaned...we have more work to come.  He did great (so much better

Look Mom, No Training Wheels!!

No Training Wheels!! He can even turn! a little hard to push in the grass... uh oh...but he assures me, "I'm OK" ;) And he's off again!! Today Trey learned how to ride his bike without the training wheels!  He has been wanting to for a while now, but Carl has been so busy that he didn't have time and I sure didn't know how to take them off.  So today, after the rain, we went outside and took them off.  He was so excited and got the hang of it really quick!  I am so proud of my little man.  I remember when Carlie and Makena learned how to ride theirs...again, kind of bittersweet.  He'll always be my baby though :)

It's Carving Time!!

Carlie wasn't afraid to dig in!  Makena was a little messy and couldn't stand the smell Trey digs into his Pumpkin Seeds! Maxee was checking out Carl's carving Pumpkin Guts!! The girls 3 Little Pumpkins 3 Jack-o-lanterns= 3 Happy Kids Okay, so since yesterday the kids have been asking, "when are we carving the pumpkins?".  Well today I finally told them that we would as soon as Carl got home.  You see, I have done EVERYTHING in this department for the past two or three years....the pumpkin patch and carving, so this year I decided that Carl needed to get in on the action!  While we were busy carving, Grammy and Maxee came in for a visit and Maxee insisted on staying until we lit them, so they did.  She loves to to play with "Trey Munger, my best buddy".  That's what she calls him everytime, "Trey Munger" :)  She even brought him a TractorHouse magazine from the store...so sweet.  Overall, I think that pumpkin carving was a sucess.

Trey and Harlee petting a goat This cracked me up...this lady was supposed to be dressed up as a pioneer woman but she was soo bored that she got her laptop out and surfed the web! Trey was loving this little train. Yesterday we made our way back down to Grady for some pumpkin pickin' and a day of fun with the girls school.  The kids had a really good time and were very excited that Carl got to go with us this year :)  He said that he would probably NOT be going back because it just wasn't his "thing".  WHATEVER!  We came home with 5 pumpkins for our 5 fa

Monday, Monday

Trey sitting with Scaredy It's sad, I know...that's the only picture I have to post today!  Not a lot has been going on around here lately, so we'll just look to the future:  Carl will done cutting beans today (woo hoo!!), I have to work tomorrow (yuck!!), and Wednesday we are going to the pumpkin patch in Grady!  The kids are really looking forward to that :)  Here are a few updates: Today, Trey spent most of the day at Grammy's house.  She called this morning after he was done with his school work and asked if he could come play with her and Maxee, so off he went!  I didn't see him again until around 2:30 or 3:00!  They went to the woods on the Gator with Papa, ate lunch, played, and took a bath!  Carlie went back to school today.  She missed last Thursday and Friday due to a nasty sore throat.  No fever, but she felt really bad...headache, earache.  I hope she didn't fall too far behind.  She missed a couple of tests, but I think she got caught up on that to

Getting Real..

Have you ever turned your computer on to your favorite social networking site to find someone say just the right thing you needed to hear at that moment in your life?!  Well, that doesn't happen very often due to the fact that some people think they have to write every little thing that comes to their mind as their status, but today it happened to me.  As I was checking my facebook I found this as someones status:  Fail proof plan for not falling:  Stay humbly and prayerfully down on your knees.  The high horse bucks, my friends, in unexpected ways. Sometimes we are awfully arrogant, aren't we?  We think that we don't need God's help.....self-sufficient comes to mind.  Why?   I find myself weakened by this..."I got this God, maybe I'll need your help next time".  Well, "I ain't got this", and I know deep down that I need His help everyday to just do the basics (breathing) but sometimes I let arrogance slip in.  Help me see where I fail you,

Searcy Trip

Carlie was trying to stay cool on this warm October day!   Makena, taking a break Austin and Derek were trying to help Trey kick the ball....it was too funny! This is how Austin greeted us...with two squirrel tales from the squirrels he killed this morning! Buddy the Beagle :)   Carlie, Trey, and Makena really enjoyed their hot dogs and chips! All the kiddos playing Who really abides by the burn bans?!  Not these neighbors!! They got a not-so-nice visit from the cops after the fire dept. left.  Very entertaining, though! Pop, Aunt Shelia, Papaw Garrett, Aunt Nina, and Uncle Floyd take time to pose for a picture before we made our way back to Arkansas County. Trey (being silly) with Aunt Shelia Today we made our way to Searcy to celebrate my little cousin Austin's birthday.  They had planned to have a weenie roast, but their county just got put in a burn ban over the week (the neighbors didn't think that the law applied to them) so we  had grilled dogs instead!   I guess i
