What's Up Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with  Shay  and  Sheaffer  to talk a little bit about what's been going on around here! What We've Been Eating.. We've been eating pretty much anything that can be grilled!  It has been so hot that I haven't wanted to turn my oven on, so I think for almost a solid week we had nothing but grilled food of some sort.  Grilled pork chops are a family favorite with the secret sauce/rub of course!! What I'm Reminiscing About... As I am getting a little older (I'm about to be a BeBe) and somewhat wiser (live and learn), I wish I could go back and hold on to the time when all of my kids were at home just a little bit longer.  I miss those days but I'm excited about things here and now also. Here are some 4th of July memories for ya! ok, enough of that! What I'm Loving... This picture and all it represents.    Trey is the kid in the orange shirt.  I say kid because he is only 16.  See the "kid" on his left?  He is special needs

Kookaburra Coast: VBS 2022

G'day friends! We came off of our Kookaburra Coast VBS a little over a week ago and I'm still singing the songs and talking the "lingo"!  We had a pretty great week. This was (hopefully) my last year of directing.  It was a great experience over the last two years, but I am ready to pass the torch to another eager volunteer :)   Ready for some Awesome Adventures! This was the theme from Regular Baptist Press this year. Mrs. Cheryl teaching about Moses and the burning bush. Makena Faith was our craft lady again this year. I am proud of her and how she is always so willing and eager to help. "From the bush to sea, to the mountains we see God's glory" The kids loved singing the "Kookaburra Coast Theme Song" Makena Faith was also our tech lady! When you are member of a small, rural church, you wear many hats! I'm not going to lie, there are times when I long to belong to a big church!  Somewhere that you could just get lost in the crowd if you

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!  Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites. It has been a couple of extremely hot weeks here in southeast Arkansas.  I've stayed inside unless we are swimming, in the boat at the river, or it's after 7 pm.  And that leads me to my first favorite: POOL DAYS! Taking a dip in the nice cool pool and reading a good book! Makena is my little bookworm! We've also spent quite a bit of time at the river.  The evenings after Carl and Trey get off work are our favorites, but afternoons when Carlie and Caleb can come out are fun too! Carl let Trey take the jet boat for a spin.  I was nervous until he came back to the sandbar, but he handled it well.  He has driven many times (with Carl in the boat), so he was pretty confident.  Fun river days will always be a summer favorite! Mr. Cool Carl and Caleb were just chilling. I'm not sure if you can see all of the snacks, but those belong to the pregnant lady :) River Selfie! I

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all of the dad's out there!  I am pretty sure that I have some of the best in my life. First of all, I'll start with Carl:  He has always been the best dad to our babies (yes, at 16, 19, and 21, they are still our babies!).  From diapers to sleepless nights, doing girls hair and teaching T to shave and hunt, he has been the best! We love him and appreciate all he does for our family.  Oh, and I know he will be the best Pappy to Miss Wren also! Next, my dad: For as long as I can remember I have been a daddy's girl.  After his big health scare in October, I am especially glad to still have him here.  He is a great spiritual leader for our family. We always joke about him being full of words, but we really do appreciate him and all of his wisdom :)  You better bet that we will pass on his "words of wisdom" for years to come! He is also a great Pop to all of his grandkids.   And lastly, my papa:   This man will be 94 years old in August!  He
