Merry Sickmas!

As soon as I typed it I knew...I knew Carl would get sick, and he did. Only it wasn't just Carl. We woke up Christmas morning and Makena was sick. I honestly thought she might have the flu. Her head hurt, her throat hurt, her whole body hurt. She made it through opening presents here at the house. Bless her heart, she tried to feel better and be excited. Carlie was determined to spread Christmas cheer! And who wouldn't be smiling when opening Kendra Scott?! The Adidas jacket she had been wanting. That's about as big as her sweet smile got. And this goofball asked for a metal detector. She was also happy to get her camera Miss Christmas with her new Fitbit Trey also got a GoPro On our way to Nanny & Pop's house Trey got a laptop Beats earbuds Carlie with her pile of presents. My sweet nephew, Eli. He loved he Fortnight toys we got him. And Ellie Kate was thrilled about her unicorn robe I pi

Christmas in Casscoe: The Stubblefield Edition

After traveling to Wynne and spending time with Carl's family we made our way back home to spend the evening with my grandparents, Grammy and Papa. My cousin Matt's family. Hannah, Jill, and Hadlee Carlie Erin with her socks and gift card Trey with his present Makena, Maxee, and Carlee Hadlee and Jill Grammy and grumpy George Strait Game time!! We started the night off eating and visiting with our family. We see this group a little more often than some of Carl's. They all live within 20 miles of here.  After we ate we opened presents (the kids and Grammy & Papa) and stockings then we played a game of unwrapping the saran wrap ball. It had all kinds of goodies including beanies, gift cards, bath &  body stuff, tools, flashlights, face masks, and all kinds of other goodies. I never play but I enjoy watching. By this point I was already starting to feel bad so I helped clean up and we left. It was good to

Christmas in Wynne

The Munger Cousins The Munger girl cousins  Papaw TR holding Mattox while I showed him his new toys Jerry, Carl, & RaeAnn Kyle, Shelby, Dillon, and Keely Nana, Carl, Mattox, and Wendy It was a beautiful Christmas Eve day as we traveled to Wynne. The weather was sunny and mild and the dispositions were pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with family.  Most of this group we only get to see once a year. We are thankful that Nana is in good health this year and that we have grown by two new babies (although I only have a picture of one). Our family has truly been blessed this year. Much Love, Beth

We Need A Little Christmas

While everyone else is rushing around going here and there for different gatherings with friends and family, we have been here; sick. It (this viral junk) didn't hit us all at once. No...that would be too easy. It has been two here, another two there, and thankfully (knock on wood) Carl hasn't had any of it. It starts with a sore throat, then fever, then a hacky cough. Makena and Trey had it first over a week ago, then me, then Carlie. Poor Carlie seems to be having the worst time of it, mostly because she refuses to rest! I love her determination and being responsible, but she will not get well until she rests. But what do I know?!  Oh, and she is very pig headed about it all. My parents have been sickly also. Trey's piano recital got postponed until after Christmas because Uncle Dean got sick. They worked so hard on their songs and he was disappointed but we will have a little post-Christmas recital as soon as everyone is well. We have tried to do all the Christmas acti

Bah Humbug and Christmas Cheer All In One

Eight more days, people! 8!!  I am still not finished with my shopping.  I keep thinking that I only have a few loose ends to tie up, but I always end up adding to my "To Buy" list and then I feel overwhelmed and panicky, and honestly, I just it want it to be over.  I mean, really.  All of this mess is not what Christmas is about.  It's not about the presents at all so why am I stressed about making sure everything is even.  Trying to make sure that the monetary amounts are the same as well as the number of gifts...it stresses me out to the point that I just want to run away from it all.  I think next year I'm going on a cruise with the Kranks! If we didn't make enough memoires throughout the year together, why do you care about making Christmas memories?! Ok, I'm done snarking now. We have been so busy lately it's crazy.  During Thanksgiving break I decided that we were going to completely finish this semester of school BEFORE Christmas break started.
