Carl's Deer

I just realized that I posted two pictures of the same deer....oops!! I'll just tell you about the other one!!  Since all five of us were home all week long, Carl decided that he would do a little hunting to get out of the house.  On Tuesday he left around 12:30 or 1:00 and was back home by 2:00 with a nice 8 point--the one that I forgot the picture of.  Today he left around 1:30 and called me at 3:30 and said that he had got the big 11 point that he has been seeing for the past few weeks!! He was so excited because he has never killed one that big at the farm :)  I think he has had a pretty good week at home, but I'm sure he's ready to get back to work!!  We'll be having deer steak soon :)

Thanksgiving 2010

Trey was waiting for Thanksgiving lunch at Grammy's Papa cutting the ham Grammy's chocolate pie--my FAVORITE!! Papaw Garrett with the Munger Kids Makena with her straight hair. Carlie with Miss Ellie Kate Caroline:  the first and the last of my Mom's grand kids We had a very nice relaxing Thanksgiving.  Even though the weather went from Spring to Winter within hours, we got to enjoy our day with lots of family.  For some reason I didn't take very many pictures.  Oh, well, maybe I'll be better at Christmas :)  We ate lunch at my Grammy's just down the road and then went to DeWitt to eat dinner at my Papaw's house.  We are so blessed to have so many people who care about us and we are very thankful for everyone of them.

A Post With No Name

Makena and Carlie at the Thanksgiving Banquet at school Carlie was holding Happy.  Isn't she precious?! Last Friday we had our annual Thanksgiving Banquet at school.  Each class gets to either do a skit or sing, and then we always enjoy music from the High School Choir.  We got out of school around 1:00 and are very excited about not having school this week :)  Today we got a new puppy.  We knew we were getting it, but I thought maybe we would wait until Friday...Carl thought today would be better :)  Did I mention that ALL 5 of us are home this week?!  I'm gonna go NUTS!!  Of course I'm just joking (kind of), I enjoy spending time them and I am so thankful that they are all happy and healthy!  I'll have more pictures to post soon, maybe.

Happy Birthday Carlie and Nanny

Carlie with her surprise dessert at our favorite Chinese restaurant. Makena and Carlie at the Bowling Ally Hannah Montana Forever :) New bag from Aunt Jamie Her favorite Live doll, Hayden And the Liv Doll Cabin Happy Birthday, my sweet Carlie Well, yesterday was the day I had been dreading for a while now...Carlie turned 10 years old!  I can' believe that I have a kid in double digits!!  I had decided at the beginning of the week that I would not be sending Carlie to school on her birthday, so we started the day off by going shopping, then lunch, then bowling.  After we got home from bowling we rested for a while, then we went to my mom and dad's for a birthday party for my mom and Carlie.  Carlie was a big surprise for us 10 years ago.  She wasn' supposed to be born until December 18th, but when my water broke on November 12th, there was no stopping her, and she was born on my mom's birthday.  She has always been Nanny's "special" birthday present!

Remembering Veterans Today

Well, the title of the post isn't completely true....we did this yesterday!  Our Discovery Bible Club at church decided to take flags down to our cemetery for all the veterans.  I hope the kids actually "got" why we were doing what we did.  Here are a few pictures: Trey looks like he was really thinking about something. Our pastor giving a quick speech Some of the kids that helped us out.  Bless their hearts they were so tired from school and a lot of them had just gotten off the bus, but it was the least we could do. Hope you took time to remember those who have fought for the freedoms that we enjoy today!

Going To Church

Not that going to church is anything out of the ordinary around our house, but the girls got these cute new dresses and I had to take some pictures of them this morning :)  Happy Sunday!!

My New Favorite Show

I know I'm a little slow to get on board but this is my new favorite show..Glee.  I'm now an unofficial Gleek!!  I love the music.   I don't think the Glee club is something that I would have been a part of in High School, but I SO would now :)  It comes on Tuesday nights on Fox .  I added a few songs from former episodes to my playlist for you to enjoy.  Come be a Gleek with me!!

Go Mustangs!!

Some of the girls in Makena's class getting ready for the Pep Rally Melanie and Tyler getting ready to announce the team... they look like they're singing a duet :) The girls team, lined up and ready for their names to be called... Go Lady Mustangs! Some of the older girls on the team Today was the first Pep Rally of the basketball season.  We don't have football at our school, so this is a big deal for us.  Our first game for the Sr. Boys is tonight against another Christian school in Pine Bluff.  We have a new coaching staff this year so I really hope that we win!!  I was trying to wait until I got a picture, but Carl is going to be a coach for the pee wee girls team at school!! Carlie and Makena are both going to play and they are just thrilled, but I'm not too sure how excited they are about Carl being one of the coaches :)  It should be a fun basketball season :)  GO BIG BLUE!!
