We Survived!

Well it's official, we survived our first week of school! It flew by and everyone actually enjoyed it!! Yes, we were dragging by the time Friday came, but it was an awesome first week :) Three Mungers, ready for school. Three backpacks full of new school supplies. Carlie with her friend, Hannah. Carlie, Katelyn, and Hannah. Rice Harvest 2015 began on Friday (yeah, I hate when they start stuff like that on weekends) so Trey had to stop and see Carl at Producers before we went home. I think he misses him the most during harvest. Getting to see him for 30 minutes before bed just doesn't satisfy him. Since it rained Saturday they didn't cut anymore and we had an awesome weekend, too! Next week will be a rough one because we will have a teacher out all week and I will have to work all week. Prayers for a good second week too:) Much Love, Beth

Back To School 2015

Well folks, it's that time again. New clothes, shoes, backpacks, and school supplies must mean it is time to start back to school!! We had open house today and I didn't take one single picture! I know...I get the mother-of-the-year award! I think one more picture would have pushed my kids over the edge though ;) Like every year the kids went to meet their teachers and talk about new classroom procedures while I signed up for birthday parties and got paperwork, and Carl talked (because that's what Carl does!). The girls were super excited about their classes because they have new (and hopefully improved) teachers. Trey has the same teacher this year (she teaches 3rd,4th,&5th grades). Makena's new teacher is very nice, and seems to be very mature and have it together AND she is only teaching 8th grade! Carlie is starting her Freshman year of High School! I'm not sure how that happened so fast! She is both excited and slightly nervous about that. She has been g

That Word:Tales of a Ranting Mama

Let me just start off by saying we have had a wonderful summer. We've gone to the beach and the lake. We've survived VBS and Revival and we've had lots of family time! On our Summer adventures however, I have heard (sometimes by strangers and sometimes by family/friends) this word too many times: FAT. I guess I never realized how overused this word is or how much we DON'T use it at our house. I may be crucified for this, but TO ME, using that word to describe someone (old or young) is AS BAD AS using the "N" word to describe African Americans. I realize that it has been socially acceptable to call people fat, but it also used to be socially acceptable to call blacks the "N" word and those who are mentally slow, "retards". In a society that has "moved forward " so much, why is this label still acceptable? I am sick and tired of hearing it. And another thing, quit teaching it to your kids! Find another adjective, people! Or b

Lake Fun Part 2

Ellie Kate and Makena sitting on the dock. It was a fun day! Surprisingly nobody got sunburned too bad :) We had a great time. Thanks Nanny and Pop!!

Lake Fun Part 1

Monday after Carl got off work we headed to Hot Springs to have a little lake time with my family. Beautiful sky! The first thing the kids did was put on their swimsuits and run for the water! Taco Trey! Carlie didn't want to get in just yet Hanging out! S'mores on the grill due to the burn ban. Still yummy! And we just thought the beach had the prettiest sunset Nanny bought all the kids glow-in-the-dark noodles. They looked really cool :) She also bought the three boys matchihng Minion pajamas. A quiet moment before everyone woke up. We were greeted by a group hungry geese! The poor little squirrel had to sneak under the porch to get a piece of popcorn. The kids loved feeding them. While Carl and my dad were at the marina getting the boats we were feeding the kids (along with the geese) and getting things ready for a fun day on the lake!

It's Already August?!

Where in the world has the summer gone?! I cannot believe that in just 2 weeks we will be back to school! I am really not ready. Usually by now I have already surrendered myself to the fact that I am going to be a volunteer again, and I am going to have a good attitude about it! This year, well let's just say, I'm not quite there yet. I am planning on helping out at school again. I always feel wanted when "the boss" sees my husband in town and asks if I'm still going to work. It relieves me to know that my behavior was mostly acceptable and they still want/need me. Because believe me, there were times this year when Mama Bear had to come out and there were times when I had to make choices and take stands that may not have been popular or made me popular. I have learned that you don't always get the respect you want/deserve and that everybody will not like you all of the time! Anyway, that's my spill...I've got to get my attitude in check! Here are so
