The Bright Eyed Brunette

Way back around Christmas I decided that I was really sick of our master bedroom/bathroom decor. It was just blah. I had been seeing a lot of yellow and gray so that is what I went with. I still have a few things to get (curtains and some new shelving) but I am very happy everytime I walk in there now :) On another completely unrelated note, on March 27th Carl and I celebrated our 16th anniversary! My mom watched the kids while we had a date night. It was nice to get out alone. We should probably do more of that :)

About a week ago we finally got to Dondie's to celebrate Carl's birthday (a month late). If you will recall, he was sick and then we just got SUPER busy. Glad we found a pretty day to go! These are his faves! Carlie Erin Makena Faith Trey Landon After we got back from our last snow break we got our basketball pictures in! I usually don't order BUT, my Mother Dearest insisted I get them because Jamie's kids were getting theirs (and she wanted all of them to have one on the wall!). So I gave in and ordered! They turned out pretty good :) Now for a few of my Pinterest finds: I seriously love this! And the fact that you can monogram it, just makes it perfecto! Speaking of monograms...how presh are these?! I absolutely LOVE Facing the Giants. I still think it's one of the best Christian films out there. This is one of my favorite quotes! I really need a sign like this! I do love my bunch of crazies!! Somebody has an Anniversary coming up! S

We finally got some snow!! It doesn't happen very often around here, so everybody's pretty excited :) Of course we all know how I feel about winter...I don't want to build a snowman because I would rather be building a sand castle! The hot tub was perfect. The second snowfall proved to be a big one! We had huge flakes and ended up missing 3 1/2 days of school. If I remember correctly we got around 6 inches! Our next snow came this past Wednesday night. We got lots of sleet and then snow on top of that...another 2 snow days!! We are a little over it by now! We decided to make the best of it and have some fun! Trey had a small accident and kind of did the splits falling off of the sled. A swim in the hot tub made him feel a little better. Later on, Carl was pulling Makena on the sled and when she fell off she rolled in the ditch full of water! I was in the house so I missed it all. They were both laughing about it. We left Memphis around lunch to head to Cherry Valley for Carl's neice's wedding. It started at 4, so we went to Wynne to change first. We finally left around 6:30 and headed back home, but first we had to stop and get Carlie something to eat. They only had soups and chili at the reception (I know.), and Carlie doesn't eat either. We got back home around 8 or 8:30 and I got to start laundry....BOO! The wedding was all I expected and now they're married so that is the end of that. Let me just say something before I wrap this post up: Do not invite someone to sit with you at a wedding when everyone else on the row is being escorted in and out. It makes for an awkward moment for those you invited, who now feel like they are unwanted and wasted their time and money even showing up! You know, it really doesn't matter if I liked

During our stay in Memphis my mom, the kids, and I took a break from the show and went to The Pink Palace. It was a cool place and we all enjoyed it. We found and old fashioned soda fountain at the "pharmacy" in the museum. Makena, by the mail truck. Trey by the Model T They had a really cool model circus set up. Trey fell in love with it. We found the dinosaurs! Makena was not a fan of the science part of the museum. Mainly because it taught evolution. She said she was going to write them a letter! Gotta love her passion for the truth! Owls! We had a fun weekend for the most part! Only one more stop before finally going home....The Wedding :/

In the aftermath of last weeks snow storm we made our way to Memphis. Thankfully the roads were clear and once we got out of Arkansas County we had no problem getting there. We had a good time and nobody's car got wrecked this year!!
