Swimming With the Cousins

Jamie and her family came to visit with us on Thursday and Friday.  Of course the kids had a great time swimming and playing together.  They always love cousin time! Carlie stopped to pose for me.  I have no idea what kind of face Trey is making in the background! She'll probably kill me for this, but she only told me not to put it on Face book! Jamie sliding :)   Cody, Trey, Makena, and Ellie Kate Makena Faith   Noah was impressed with Trey's jumping!   We had to get out of the pool both days due to the weather, but at least they got to spend a little time together.  Maybe one day they will move closer to us again!   "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."  1John 4:8   Beth

Memorial Day Fun!

Happy Memorial Day!  And thank you to all of you who have fought for our freedom!!  We celebrated Memorial Day by having a cook out at my Mom and Dad's house with my grandparents.  Carl had to work this year...BOO!!  And my sister and her kids weren't able to be here, but surprisingly my kids had a blast having the pool to themselves :) Carl made it in just in time for lunch and then had to head back out to the field.   Mr. Jim and Mrs. Amy came by and took Trey for a little ride! He loved it and talked their ears off the whole time!   After we ate and Carl went back to work, we headed out to the pool. My mom bought this Bonsai Ball that is kind of like hot potato but with a water balloon. It has a timer on it and when it goes off, the water balloon bursts!  It's a lot of fun :)   He missed his Daddy, but he still tried to have fun!   Carlie made a flag, but didn't want her picture made with it because her hair was too messy!! Flags and Cook Outs

Saturday morning we made our annual trip down to Marsh Cemetery to put flags out.  The kids always like doing this, well, except Makena.  She said that she doesn't like going down there!  We had a pretty good turn out since my sister and her kids were here and Bonnie had a friend with her :)     Katelyn, Carlie, Ellie Kate, Noah, Trey, Eli, Bonnie, and Makena   After eating lunch and swimming for a bit, we headed down to my Papaw's in DeWitt for a little Memorial Day cook out.  Sadly I didn't get many pictures this time.  Everybody had a good time visiting and Trey found him lots of new buddies.  The girls, weren't as socialable, because I made the mistake of letting them bring electronics!!   Trey, Grayson, and Makena Anytime there is a baby around, Makena loves to get her hands on it!   Makena, Grayson, Nanny, and Carlie found a shady spot!   Trey and Creed found some buckets of water and "painted" the carport posts. Graduation 2013

Trey's class singing with the Kindergarten Graduates.    Devin and Trey singing "I Am A Promise"   Makena with her group They had a lot of fun singing their song! Carlie was on the front row this time, so I didn't have to search for her! She looked so grown up singing in the choir!   We had a bit of technical difficulty   And this is our principal, Bro. Bormann.  He is one of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  He is an awesome principal!  Every single day I work (if he is there) he  comes to me and tells me "thank-you for all you do" :) Skylar was the only Senior that I got a picture of!  He sang a beautiful solo with the choir!    Well, that's all folks....officially the end of the 2012-2013 school year!!   "Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."  Psalm 37:4   Beth

Last Day of School 2013

Well, today was it...the end of the 2012-2013 school year!  Over all I would say it was a great school year, and I now have a 2nd, 6th, and 7th grader! How is that possible?!  I'm so proud of all three of them.  I say it all the time, but they are really awesome kids!  It's funny how when Makena was born and Carlie was only 20 months old, I could never even imagine them going to preschool!  Now they are growing up and I just can't get a grip on where the time has gone :( Where was I, oh, the last day of school!  It was pretty much just a fun day, but we also had the birthday party for the May, June, and July birthday's and rehearsal for graduation.  I was pretty much in charge of that, which was fine, but we were displaced due to the gym being cleaned for graduation, which made it a little chaotic for a while.  Those 3 1/2 hours were very, very, busy!!  Karmen, Anna, Sam, Makena, and Oriah were ready to eat! And can't you tell how excited they were about it

Field Day 2013

Today was Field Day at our school.  It was supposed to be outside (in the field), but then it rained last night!  Oh, well we just had to change games and they ended up a little lame, but the kids would still rather play lame games than be stuck in the classroom all day :) Really, it should have just been called Game Day! Erin, Katelyn, and Carlie were all part of the red team! I love these three sweet girls.   Makena with some of her orange teammates playing musical chairs.   Trey was ready to do the three legged race with his buddy Andersen! The didn't win, but were laughing and smiling the whole race :)   T was trying to be so careful during the egg race!   More musical chairs.  Carlie stayed in there for a fairly long time.   Tug-of-War!  This was the only other game (besides musical chairs) that Makena played.  She LOVED it!  Here her orange team is up against Carlie's red team.  The orange won!   It was a fun Friday.  Speaking of

Pool Season Is Here!

Well the day has finally arrived that my kids are able to jump into Nanny's pool!  They have been begging to get in there since we got the pool ready 3 weeks ago!  Well, it may have been 90 degrees outside, but the water was F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G!!  They stayed in there way longer than I could have.  I couldn't hardly leave my feet in there for two minutes! Carlie just felt like floating for a while!   All smiles!!   The Black Dog floated long enough for T to shoot the girls in the face and get in trouble, then deflated!  Maybe we can patch it up :)   I think (maybe) it's safe to say, SUMMER IS FINALLY HERE!   Beth

Stuck On A Truck

Every year during Toad Suck Daze they have an event called Stuck On A Truck, where the contestants have to stay "stuck" on the truck until  eventually all but one fall off.  I think they started out with 20 or 25.  Mrs. Odom's (Trey's teacher) youngest son, Jacob was in the competition and won!! He was stuck on that truck for a little over 3 days during that last cold front we had.   One of the most cool things about all of this is that Mrs. Odom's husband won the same competition about 3 years ago, and I have a picture somewhere of Makena  on his truck!   So, Mrs. O got a lady from the Daily Leader to come and take her whole classes picture with Jacob and the truck. Trey is standing right beside Jacob in the white t-shirt.   Evidently they had a little competition of their own while Jacob was there and Trey told me he was on the truck for 20 minutes and won!! Now, this is very unofficial and is only "Trey time".     Exciting Times At GPCS!

Mother's Day Weekend

I really had a great Mother's Day weekend.  It started off Saturday with a road trip!  We had planned on going to Wynne to eat with Carl's mom but since I left my camera at the Museum of Discovery in Little Rock, we had to make a small detour :(  What would have been an hour and a half trip, turned into a 3 1/2 hour trip.  Needless to say we might be re-thinking that beach trip!!  The kids weren't terrible, they just always wanted to know if we were there yet.  Once we got to Wynne, we were good :)  And yes, thankfully, we got my camera back!  It was great to get to see both of Carl's sisters, his brother-in-law, and his niece and nephews, and of course his mom!  The lunch was great and Carl and Trey both ended up getting haircuts (thank-you Wendy!)! Also, thank-you Mrs. Carolyn for the shirt!  I love it!!  When we got back home we went to my parents house to give my mom her present.  I found a really pretty canvas  that had the Fruits of the Spirit on it.  I think she

Trey's Class Trip: The Museum of Discovery

Today marked my final class trip of this school year!  Trey's class went to the Museum of Discovery in Little Rock.  The kids had a lot of fun.  Everyone just kind of went at their own pace (almost every kids parent/grandparent went).  It was nice to spend time with my T-Man.  He's so crazy.  This was at CFA before we went to the Museum. He found some fish This was his favorite!  At this activity you had to decide which animals were omnivores, herbivores, carnivores, and all of that.  He loved this activity and was a lot better at it than me! This was some kind of water vapor thing.  It was fun for him!   . He got to lay on the bed of nails!  He said it tickled :) He was climbing some kind of wall about skin diseases.  This was in the Grossology room!     This was the first time we had ever been here, so it was new and exciting for us. We did everything except the Tornado Room.  Evidently they simulate a tornado. Trey decided that he want
