Book Review: The Bait of Satan

Last week was a long week.  Being snowed-in is okay for a day or two but anything beyond that and boredom sets in. We watched multiple seasons of Longmire and lots of TikTok videos, consumed entirely too much food, and then we were tired of looking at each other and went to different rooms!  I went to my library app and looked for some good books to download. The first one was a cookbook (I told you food was on my mind ALL WEEK!), then I came across a book called "The Bait of Satan".  You may have heard of it.  It is a Christian book by John Bevere that was released in 1994 (not new but believe me it sounds like it could have been written last year!). I have been so convicted since reading this book.  We all know that once we accept Jesus for our salvation that satan can no longer touch our souls, so he uses the trap of offense take us away of doing the work of God.  I never really considered myself as one to be offended easily but every day since reading this book I have th

Weekend Recap: Freezing Cold Edition

Hello friends! Happy President's Day!! And what a day it has been.  The snow has found it's way to the south and it looks like it will be here for a while!  We have stayed safe and mostly warm thus far.  Our weekend was pretty low-key.  Makena made it home Friday but wasn't able to make it back on Sunday. Turns out it was fine because OBU went to virtual, and not all of her professors have even done that.  Trey went back to bowling this week after missing last week.  He did so awesome! Much better than any games he has bowled this term. I have noticed that it has TONS to do with who he bowls by.  Some of the kids (and parents) get in his head or something.  We were on the far end with a younger kid.  Turns out Trey was able to motivate him a little and he also bowled better.  I am well aware that if Trey actually bowled outside of Saturday mornings, he would probably do much better. He isn't that interested and I'm not pushing. I stopped by Carlie and Caleb's t

What's Happening Now

This is the first time I have attempted to blog in two weeks.  My last two posts are still saved as drafts that will probably end up being deleted.  I was pretty sick Wednesday and Thursday last week and am just now feeling back at 100%. Anyway...   I am typically not one for audiobooks.  I mean, I'm an adult and someone reading to me just feels weird. I have been seeing this book on many booklists but my library app only had it on audiobook.  That ended up being great since I didn't really feel like reading.  It was one of the best books I have "read" in a while.  I'm not sure how old this movie is, but I also found it last week and it is GOOD! I told Makena about it and she watched it while she was at school.  We both highly recommend it! Trey decided not to bowl this week (he will post-bowl).  He went and helped work on the church with Carl and a few of the other men of the church.  They had to jack up the floor in one of the rooms where the ground had settled
