Making Up For Lost Time

Here we are at the end of Febraury and I am behind on my blogging (surprise!). In my defense we have been pretty busy. We finished up with our bowling scholarship league on Saturday and all three kids got money. I am thankful for the friendships that have been formed over the past year (for the kids and myself). Carlie went to State last year and all three of them are going this year and they are excited. We have lots of practices to get in before the end of April. We have had some warmer days lately and have really been trying to enjoy them as much as we possibly can. Carlie and Trey took advantage of a windy day by flying a kite. Makena and Trey were checking out the pond. Trey is one cool dude! Carl brought the boat back home and Trey was helping him cover it. We are ready for river weather! My desk, aka the kitchen table. Trey has been practicing Home On the Range and When We All Get to Heaven...everyday..multiple times a day. Thankfully his is im

Happy Love Day!

Carlie got a HUGE bag of Swedish Fish! Makena got chocolates Trey got his in bed because he woke up feeling yucky! Even the dog and cat were loving on each other!! When Carl got home from work he brought all of us goodies😊 We also had Discovery on Valentine's night. We had pizza, games, and class time. I think that the kids had the most fun playing the Hungry, Hungry Hippo game! Trey didn't play because he just didn't feel like it. He was perfectly fine the next day (after we pumped him with his allergy meds). The kids in the Helper class made paintings instead of playing games. Carlie and Harleigh Brooke Addie and Julia Jack. This kid is a mess! He is also hilarious 😊 Definitely keeps me in my toes. We had a pretty good love day here on the homestead. We really toned it down as far as presents go, this year. I just felt like it was getting a little too much. I got the kids goody bags with candy in them and Carl br

Happy Birthday, Carl!

Today we celebrated Carl's birthday. I won't give away his age but he isn't as old as his Gray hair would lead you to believe😊 He had to work but was gifted with a very sweet card and a yummy chocolate cake from his farm family. We are thankful that he works for Christian people. We (me, the kids, and my parents) met him for lunch at our local Mexican restaurant. It's hard to believe that he had just turned 16 a couple of weeks before we started dating. Time flies when you're having fun!! After he got home from work we went to church where the Teen Discovery class that he co-teaches made him an awesome candy card. Everybody loves Carl. It used to bother me because I felt like everyone liked him more than me but somebody has to be the realistic grouch...and that is usually me...and I now own it 😂😁 This really has nothing to to with Carl's birthday, but my Aunt and Uncle invited us to go eat with them in DeWitt. It was the first time we

This and That

I took Makena to the doctor for her back pain.  We were doing our best to NOT get the flu while we were there. Poor baby girl got a muscle relaxer and an anti-inflammatory pill Carlie is shopping for her senior ring! I can't believe how close we are to her senior year. It makes me both excited and sad. Excuse all of the redneckery going on in this picture! Trey cut the sleeves out of this reunion shirt when it got a hole in the armpit🤣 He was working on his current event in history. He chose an article about the volcanic eruption in the Philippines, which just happens to be where our new missionary at church is from. Thankfully he isn't near the eruption, but Trey thought it was cool. And here is a picture of liitle-old me! And on Friday...this happened. Makena tested positive for the flu. Yes, we probably got it FROM the clinic when we were there on Monday🤒😷 We all got Tamiflu or a generic form of it. I feel so bad for her. I
