Halloween 2013

My little vampire He was really into posing!! Makena dressed up as Cleopatra Her pose :)   This was Carlie's last minute costume.  I had told her she was too old, but she really wanted to, so I caved! All three   Hadlee and Makena The kids thought it was cool because Aunt Becky had scary make-up on!   This was definitely a Halloween like no other.  As I got out of the shower this morning (at 6:40) our electricity went out...no blinking, just poof it was gone!  So thankfully Carl was still here and helped me get them ready really fast (in the dark) so we could go eat breakfast in town.  Everything I had here at the house had to either be cooked in the microwave, stove, or toaster!  It was pouring down rain as we drove to school but we made it fun by listening to "Thriller Thursdays" on the radio while we ate our breakfast at Sonic :)  After I finally dropped them off at school I ran and bought groceries then had to go back an

Cousin Day

Today we were scheduled to go to the pumpkin patch with our school, but a the last minute we decided to skip out and make it Cousin Day!  Yes, it's our own little made-up holiday. The kids were happy to make the drive to Hot Springs to see Noah, Eli, and Ellie Kate.  We ate lunch, played, then went to Garvan Gardens and walked around, and around, and around!  We got lost and I'll admit, I was seriously about to have a panic attack.  Yes, we had a map, but they were pretty much useless when you got off the beaten path.  Word of advice: if you got to Garvan Gardens, do not, I repeat, DO NOT get off the paved walkway because you will feel like you are wondering in the wilderness for 40 years!  It was a lot of fun, and was actually much more educational than the pumpkin patch would have been :)  Carlie by the berries The crew, minus me and Mom, on the bridge made of sticks   Best friends!  Noah and Trey Makena and Elijah: The cream-in-the- middle kids. Random Pictures

I am trying very hard to get caught up on here, so please forgive this lazy post of pictures.  It's the best I can do right now!   This was picture day at school! I'm not sure when they grew up so much !!   Makena was making cupcakes one night. She is the silliest girl!   He is looking too old!   Ninja Turtle Trey I had him at the doctor yesterday and he has bronchitis. Breathing issues are scary!!   A preview of their Halloween costumes. Carlie is a little mad because I told her she was too old to trick-or-treat (she'll be 13 next month!), but she and her friends have already decided to do a dress-up Halloween party next year!  Let the fun times begin :)   I have been subbing this week in Trey's class while his teacher is off helping her daughter have a baby.  This can be exhausting (it is a blended class of grades K-2nd) and rewarding (lots of memories and I get to be with Trey).  A little girl in Trey's grade mad

A Very Special Sunday

Today we took a few minutes in church to honor my Papa for the 53+ years of service to the church.  He is a carpenter, and although  he has slowed down some, there are so many things at the church he as done.  He has had a  working hand in every building project from start to finish for the past 53 years, the latest one being the renovation of our parsonage.  He has been such a faithful servant not only to our church, but also to our Lord.  We tried to keep this a secret from him, but I think he knew something was going on.  Of course he knew something was going on when he walked out of Sunday School and saw all of his sisters, a nephew and his wife, and almost all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren!  It was a very special day :) Papa's sisters and one of his brother-in-laws singing.  One of the sisters was playing the piano also. I'm not exactly sure the relation of the lady on the left.  All I know is that she is at every get-together that we have

Bonfire & A Surprise!

Yesterday was our last day of school this week!  So to celebrate, we had a bonfire (the weather was perfect).  We all had a great time, but Makena couldn't come out with us because she had a sore throat and a little fever :(  I came in to check on her every once in a while and she was just laying on the couch watching TV or looking a Facebook.  She loves Facebook! My little cheese ball!   He was having a blast!   Snoopy was really loving all of the attention he was getting! I think Carlie's face was due to the fact that Snoopy was trying to give her a kiss :)   It was a fun night and the moon was beautiful.  I think it's safe to say that it is officially fall!! Please don't look at the junky shop, I wish I had gotten a better picture of the moon!!   Today we didn't do a whole lot.  Makena felt well enough this afternoon to go over to my Mom's and have a piano lesson.  She has been playing in church every Sunday for the past mo

Happy Fall, Friends!

Happy Fall, Friends!!  We are so excited about it finally being cool outside. We have lots of fun stuff coming up from school pictures to a trip to the pumpkin patch, so stay tuned because I am finally back in the blogging mood!!   Beth
Daddy's helper boy   Planting some wheat for our deer! He's always right by his side!   He was my driver because Carl was driving the tractor. I made him take a picture with me.    I was just hanging out on the 4wheeler, taking random pictures!   Last night while the girls were at a football game, Carl, Trey, and I went to the farm to plant some food plots.  Well, I actually just sat on the 4wheeler and watched, but I was still there!  Trey had a blast riding through the farm while Carl worked up the ground to plant the wheat.  A few times I was a little scared because he likes to turn around and talk to me while he's driving!  It was a fun night, but we did miss the girls :)   Beth
