Bonfire & A Surprise!

Yesterday was our last day of school this week!  So to celebrate, we had a bonfire (the weather was perfect).  We all had a great time, but Makena couldn't come out with us because she had a sore throat and a little fever :(  I came in to check on her every once in a while and she was just laying on the couch watching TV or looking a Facebook.  She loves Facebook!

My little cheese ball!

He was having a blast!

Snoopy was really loving all of the attention he was getting!

I think Carlie's face was due to the fact that Snoopy was trying to give her a kiss :)

It was a fun night and the moon was beautiful.  I think it's safe to say that it is officially fall!!
Please don't look at the junky shop, I wish I had gotten a better picture of the moon!!

Today we didn't do a whole lot.  Makena felt well enough this afternoon to go over to my Mom's and have a piano lesson.  She has been playing in church every Sunday for the past month.  I am very proud of her.  I told her today that she was getting a piano!  I really good deal worked out for us and we were able to purchase a used piano for her and Trey to play.  She has been using a keyboard (a nice one) and has wanted a piano for a long time.  I have to admit I'm a little excited about it too!
This was right after I told her.  She was soo happy!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
