Discovery Kick Off

Playing volleyball

Trey with Bryer, Jeremy, and Cid

Trey and Blaine playing water balloon toss

The kids loved the water balloons

Piper, Anthony, Carlie, and Makena waiting to
catch a water balloon.
Yes, it's almost 100 degrees and we are cooking
our hot dogs over a fire!!

Spiky Cash!

Everyone was listening to the devotional given by Pop

We had a visitor...someone was trying to give
away this cute little puppy and Carlie actually
wanted it!  She isn't so scared of dogs now :)
We didn't bring it home, though!

Carl and Hayden were looking at something
probably water balloons...they were flying everywhere!
You are never too old to blow bubbles :)

It was such a fun afternoon at our Discovery Kick Off party and we had a good turn out.   They loved the water balloons most of all I think, but volley ball was a close second.  We played games, ate hot dogs, chips, and marshmallows, then we had our devotional and played some more.  We have been on "summer break" for the past two months and I am very excited that we are getting started back this Wednesday.  The sad thing about it all is that very few of them showed up to "regular church" all summer long.  They did come to VBS, but not regular church services.  It's going to be great to have them all back!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
