A New Dog and The Best Dad

I really didn't mean for this picture to be first, but since it loaded that
way, this is our new dog, Sam.  He is our "guard dog" and the kids
absolutely love him!

See, the kids adore him...even Carlie :)

Carl and T on the old tractor.

Trey loves sleeping in this shirt, even though it ends
up looking like a gown on him.

I had to capture this moment on camera! Carlie and Makena were actually
playing together.  Makena is not really a baby doll kind of girl (never has been),
Carlie on the other hand is struggling to give them up.
She says when Ellie Kate turns two she is going to give her doll to her....we'll see :)

These are their babies: Caroline and Devin.  Carlie wanted me
to take a picture of them.  Caroline is Carlie's and Devin is Makena's.

Today was pretty much a lazy day.  Carl got off work around 9 this morning because it rained somewhere around 3- 3 1/2 inches over night so they didn't have to water anything....they were actually pumping water into the reservoir!  Thank you Lord for the rain!!
Since it did come a little storm last night my mom's pool was a HUGE mess.  Chairs were overturned, leaves and branches were everywhere, and my dad was out of town, so Carl and I went and helped clean up.  It was hard work that I'm not used to doing ( I even have a blister to show for it!), but we got it done and it looks better than before :)
Tonight I had Ladies Bible Study so Carl got to watch all three of the kids.  He is the best Dad (besides my dad, of course!), he has never minded watching the kids, even when they were little and in diapers.  And let me tell you, he can do hair as good or better than me!  This is what he had done to the girls hair when I got back home:

They are sock buns!  We saw this on Pinterest and when you let the buns out in the morning they are supposed to leave really loose pretty curls.  I didn't even know he was going to do this.  How sweet is that :)
Their future husbands are going to have a lot to live up to...Carl gets them jewelery every year for Valentine's Day (he picks it out) AND he does hair! What more could a girl want ?!

OH, and Makena wasn't smiling because she wanted chips and dip.  Hate that she had to go to bed hungry, but there was NO WAY she was getting chips and dip at 9 p.m.  So I was "mean mama" tonight.
There's always tomorrow for redemption :)

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
