Weekend Rewind: First Birthday Edition

Look who celebrated her first birthday over the weekend:
My sweet little Wren!

I couldn't have imagined how much of a joy that she would be.  She loves Elmo and dogs!  She is walking, squealing, and saying a few words.  I'm still waiting for her to say, "BeBe".  She tries to mouth it :) She loves to be outside swinging and riding on the Ranger.  Cutting teeth are rough on her (and her mama!) but she is the absolute sweetest thing in the world, and she has her BeBe and Pappy wrapped around her little finger.

BeBe and Pappy with Wren.
Poor Pappy was looking a little rough.
They are just beginning to harvest rice and the temps are over 100 degrees with heat indexes around 110.
That's miserable for anyone! He didn't get to stay very long but we'll give him a pass this time!

She LOVED the cake!
Of course, her theme was Wren's World (Elmo)!
The highchair she is sitting in was my dad's (65 years ago!)

Her one-year pictures were absolutely gorgeous!
This little rocking chair was my mother's (63 years ago!)
I'm glad that Carlie was able to incorporate the older things into her pictures.
We all sat in that highchair and rocking chair growing up.

The sweetest little smile ever!

Happy Birthday, Wrenley Elizabeth!  I pray that you will always be as sweet as you are now and that you will always know how much Bebe, Pappy and Jesus love you.

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
