Back To Homeschool 2023

Well I have made it.  This is my very last year to homeschool because my baby is a SENIOR!

The left was his first day of kindergarten and the right was his first day of school.

My handsome cowboy
My school room.
I said a couple of posts back that I was going to have a school room this year.  I also thought I was going to have the time to actually fix it like I wanted to.  We ran out of time and the heat has just been horrendous here.  I am pretty happy about having a spot to keep all of the stuff and not having to pick it up all the time because we are schooling in the living room or dining room.  I only wish I had this when I was homeschooling all three of my kids.

Our first week of school was great!  Trey wakes up early enough to do his chores with the chickens and then he gets started with school.  He is taking Bible, English 12, Physics, Consumer Math, American Government, and Speech this semester.  A few classes will change next semester.
He grabs lunch and then heads off to work around 1.  I am very proud of his work ethic and the fact that he works so hard.  He bought a Bass Tracker boat and a new motor for it over the summer (not a new boat).  He is so proud of it.
He is also back to bowling for the fall term.  I hope that he keeps it up and bowls for the spring also, since it is his last year to do so. I am happy that he is wanting to spend time with kids his age.  I think he is finally realizing that being an adult isn't all it cracked up to be :)
He will also have a birthday in a couple of weeks and will turn 18!! I can't even bare to think about letting him go, but I know that is what he is supposed to do, and although he is a little sarcastic and mouthy, I am proud of the young man he is growing up to be.

Here's to a great senior year for my baby boy!

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
