Learning Is Fun

OK, since we let the girls have a day off of school yesterday we are calling our Memphis trip a "Field Trip"!
Mom and I had been trying to find somewhere to take the kids while we were there.  After discussing the zoo, The Children's Museum, and the Fire Museum of Memphis, we decided on the latter...the Fire Museum.  Carl went with us because he didn't want us walking alone and I think he enjoyed it as much as the kids!!  I knew that Trey would love it, but I wasn't too sure that they would have much for the girls.  I was very pleased that they really enjoyed it too!

They were a little irritated with all my picture taking.

Trey and Makena were taking a ride (a pretend ride)
on the firetruck

This was a really cool simulation fire lift...it made it
look like they were actually putting out a fire in a tall building
and it lifted them up and down...VERY COOL!

Now, Makena and Trey put out a fire!

No trip to Memphis is complete without a trolley ride!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
