The Last Day of School

Carlie with some of the girls in her class
Carlie, Heather, Syrina, Skylar, and Natalie before graduation

Carlie's class--Aiden looked marvelous with
Gracie's scarf, don't you think?!

Carlie's class singing.   I did get this on video, but
for some reason it will not upload.

Makena was playing the last-day-of-school blues :)

Makena's class at rehearsal yesterday.  I left my camera
in the car last night and the battery was going down on
my video camera, so I only got the video of her class singing last night
and no pictures :(

We are finally out of school, and we are SO excited !!  Trey and I spent the whole morning at the school yesterday helping with the birthday party for June and July birthdays, as well as cleaning up for graduation.  The kids went over their music and graduation stuff for that night, had a party, and watched a movie. They also had the whole school judge who had the best 3D book report, and just take a guess and who won.....MY CARLIE!!  I was very proud of her :)   It was just a fun day for everyone.  After we got out of school at 11:30 we came home and went swimming.  I was really worried because Carlie's ear started hurting and I didn't know if she needed to go to the doctor or not.  She didn't have fever or anything, just an earache.  After graduation I gave her some pain medicine and numbing ear drops, and this morning she told me it doesn't hurt anymore!  Thank you Lord.  I really didn't want to make a fast trip to LR.  We are looking forward to a fun weekend, relaxing with family, going to church, and of course....eating lots of good food :)  I'll have more pictures to post soon, and maybe even some big news to announce!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
