Playing Bocce Ball--Very Fun!!

One Cool Little Man

The Grill Master, Pop

Today was a very fun Memorial Day!  First and foremost, Carl didn't have to work all day because it rained at the farm on Saturday afternoon--like an inch!!  Yay for afternoon showers :)  So after they put down some poly pipe he came home!!  We had a great time visiting with some church folks that my Mom and Dad had invited, along with my sister and her family, and my grandparents.  We ate LOTS of good food (like I knew we would), played in the pool, and played bocce ball (which I didn't even know existed until today, but is SO much fun!).  For lunch we had burgers, hot dogs, brats, and homemade banana ice cream and then for dinner we had steaks, baked potatoes, salad, and angel food cake with strawberries!! I'm telling you, we ate way too much.  So I guess tomorrow officially starts our first day of summer vacation (from school).  I'm praying that we have a nice, productive summer :)  Happy Memorial Day!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...

Happy Wednesday! Today I am linking up with  Shay  and  Sheaffer  for a What's Up Wednesday.   It has been a while since I have done this particular link-up.   What We're Eating This Week... This week, we pulled out one of our very favorites: Ritz Cracker Chicken.  We all love this, but it is Trey's very favorite meal.
