Blue/White Game & Trophy Night

Tonight was the Blue/White basketball game (and senior night) at our school.  We normally would have this game right after basketball season is over, but things got moved around a little bit and we had to squeeze it in with the Athletic Banquet that just turned in to trophy night.  It was not as nice at it normally is because they had to be meshed together, but it's over and done with now.  I'm not gonna lie, it just didn't seem as special to me as it usually does.  On top of that, Makena didn't get to play at all last night because she missed school yesterday!  She has had a terrible cough most of the week, so I took her to the doctor yesterday morning.  He gave her some meds, and thankfully they seem to be helping, but no basketball for her :(

These are the games that the whole school (whoever wants to) get to play in.  So the ages ranged from the varsity team all the way down to Kindergartners.  They were pretty good at helping them out.  The big girls really wanted to get out there and play hard, but were good about getting the ball to the little ones, since they don't have a "season".  Carlie was on the white team, and even though she didn't really want to, she played in her pee wee jersey (#14).

Oriah and Makena found a spot to sit and watch the game.

Makena Faith with her trophy!
I am happy that she was able to be there to receive it herself!

Carlie Erin.  I had to make her take this picture!
This is her final year to play Pee Wee!

My Dad and Carl both got very nice ball bags with Coach Harvey and Coach Carl monogrammed on them and I got a pretty infinity scarf.  I had to help my Dad quite a bit between Carl's injury, and the scheduling of games.  It is kind of a headache at times, but it makes the kids so happy that it's all worth it in the end.

Happy Friday!!  5 More Weeks of School!!!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
