The Bright Eyed Brunette

Happy First Day of School! We came back from vacation in Sunday at 5pm and started school the next morning. It sounded like a good idea. I think I forgot how much laundry I would have and how tired I would be! I was determined not to change it because i had already written the lesson plans in my planner and i don't like to redo things....silly, I know!  We made it fine but by Wednesday I was dragging. I don't sleep as well when Carlie goes to school because I still worry about her driving (strangely not as much as I did before the accident) and I wake up when she leaves at 5:30 and cannot go back to sleep! The kids seem to be doing fine though. Trey is taking Bible, English 8, Pre-Algebra, US History, and Science: Earth and Space. He really likes his US History class. Makena is taking Bible, English 12, Consumer Math, World History, American Government,  Physics, and Spanish II. She LOVES American Government and Consumer Math the most, but doesn't hate Physics ei...

We had to visit our favorite stores, The Happy Shak Carlie was the only one interested in modeling for me. Stay trippy, little hippie  I love this wall tapestry  You could rent this little cart to cruise the streets. We did not, but I found two tacky tourists to take a picture on it. Well it happened, even though I was sure it wouldn't this year. We were blessed to able to travel to our favorite spot for another beach vacation!  We had to rearrange things (taking our trip at the end of the week as opposed to the beginning) but we were successful in our endeavors and we all had an awesome time! The gulf is just beyond those palm trees! Car rides are not my favorite. We threw our bags in the condo and changed into our swimsuits as fast as we could! My favorite trio Happy parents!! He loves for me to take his picture...not! Carlie and I found a nice spot to relax Trey found a crab Carl and I decided to rent chairs and an umbrella this year. We took three of our five chairs and our small beach umbrella and put the kids up closer to the water. This was our first photo shoot of her senior year. We plan to do more soon! I can't believe that my baby girl is a senior. She has big plans for college and only one of her top picks is in-state.  This is an exciting and hard time as a parent. I have learned so much since Carlie's senior year (just last year).  I feel like I'm semi-pro now! Much Love, Beth
