I still don't have a lot to blog about, but here is a funny conversation that took place in our house between Carl and Trey. Carl had just walked in from work:
Carl: "Trey, did you get a new truck today"
Trey: "Um Huh"
Carl: "When did you get that?"
Trey: "At Wal-Mart"
Carl: "No, not where did you get it, but when did you get it?"
Trey: (and I wish you could have see the look on his face) "Today at Wal-Mart, duh !"
I about died. How did he get such an attitude you might ask--remember, he has two older sisters! He picks up all kind of stuff from them. I am NOT taking credit for any of that:)
The other night Carl had left to go to Men's Fellowship at our church. Trey realized this about 30 minutes after he left because he was in the tub(a well designed plan!), and this was our conversation while I was getting him dressed:
Trey: "Where's Daddy at?"
Me: "He went to the church for a men's meeting"
Trey: "Why did he go there?"
Me: "To learn about Jesus and talk with the men."
Trey: "Just like I do in class?"
Me: "Yes Trey, just like you do in class"
Isn't that sweet? He tells me all about his lessons from Sunday School--now, sometimes I might have to beg him to tell me, but he usually will. And some people say that 2-3 year olds are too young to remember--not Trey. He has a memory like an elephant.
Makena did go back to school today--yeah! She is feeling better, but she didn't sleep a wink last night. This has been two nights in a row now. I am beginning to feel like I have an infant again! Mrs. Odom asked me to sub for her next Tues and I am really excited about it:) I enjoy being up there with the girls, and believe it or not they like me being there. I dread the years when they don't want to be seen with me. And no matter how cool Mom's think they are, there are always times when their kids don't want them anywhere around them. Then when they grow up and have kids of their own, they can't imagine living without their Mom. At least that was the case with me! I guess I've procrastinated on my cleaning long enough:)
