This and That

This is what an "Off Day" around our house looks like.
We got to spend Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday at home with the Simpson boys.
So Carlie spent that day doing her hair (what else?!), Makena was making bracelets with her loom, Noah and Trey were having fun playing in Trey's room, and Eli was loving the television (and Trey's DS when Trey wasn't looking!).  We also got report cards on this day and I am proud to say that we had one on the All A Honor Roll, and two on the A and B Honor Roll.

Makena, Trey, and Papa at Ellie's 4th birthday party.
It was cowgirl themed.  I thought it was funny that Papa decided to join the fun and wear a mustache!

Ellie loved her new horse watch!

And of course, her princess dress :)

Another picture of Trey and Noah.
There is no telling what these two will get into when they get a little older.

I almost forgot about this one!  We had a Birthday Party/Potluck at church for our Pastor.
I'm still getting used to all of this.  I want to be trusting and friendly, it's just not easy for me after what happened with our last one.
It's so hard not having someone here all of the time.  It just doesn't feel right sometimes.  I know the time for a "full-time" pastor for us has probably passed, but it's so hard to get used to.  Guess I better go find my big girl panties and get over it!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
