The Rest of July

Hey friends and welcome back to the blog! When we returned from our beach trip things got super busy and I just simply didn't have the time or the brain power to put two sentences together.    So here we go back to July 24th...my birthday! My family was so sweet to me and made my day extra special.  I didn't take many pictures, but here are a few that I did get: He thinks it's funny that I am older than he is! Makena is off on Mondays, so we slept-in and then spent the afternoon at the pool :) I sure love that girl! I had the cutest (although sleepy) little helper! Hard to believe that next month she will be 1! Carl and Trey finally got the boat put back together...and she runs!  We had a few things to tweak after our first trip out, but we are so pleased that we were able to make it to the river this year!  Maybe next year we will have the big boat ready. Boone was happy to be there too! *when actual temps are this high, river time is needed!* Makena and Trey h...

Beach Trip 2023

We finally made it back to the beach!  You see signs and read Instagram captions about "the beach is my happy place" all the time.  But seriously, it is my happy place.  My whole family loves the beach! We had a little getaway (seems that is all we can ever get) and got some much needed time in the sun.   This was on our way to drop Boone off at doggy daycare.   Am I the only one who almost cries when dropping their pet off while they go on vacay? He probably knew that something was up when we all packed into the car. We were pretty sqished with Boone, his dog food, Trey's guitar, and big 'ole hat :) Carpool karaoke, Dad Edition! Pretty sure he was jamming to Luke Bryan 😅 Mr. Cool was playing us a tune. Love me a family beach trip! I was sad that Carlie, Caleb, and Wrenley couldn't come.  Carlie was afraid that Wren wouldn't ride well for that long (8 hours) and then she got sick with pneumonia a few days before we left.   Thankfu...

Independence Day

Happy Monday, Tuesday, I mean Wednesday!  We had a fun weekend and a day celebrating our freedom.  Just as I was feeling better, my parents and Makena started getting sick, but we ended up having a good fourth.  And now poor Carl is getting it :(  We are just praying that it passes him quickly and Trey doesn't get it because we are leaving next week for the beach! Here we are, just cruising into the holiday! Boone loves to go riding on the Ranger. Since my parents were sick, we ended up cooking fish and eating here at our house.  It gave me a chance to play hostess, which I don't mind since we have plenty of room now! All of my girls! I didn't get a picture of all of the boys, but they were all there cooking (and flapping their jaws :) ) Carl worked hard and fixed the best fish. Papa would have been proud! It was nice that my sister's kids and husband were able to be with us this year. My sweet niece Ellie Kate Wrenley Elizabeth's first 4th of July My litt...
