We've Been Invaded By........

Meadows, Alyssa, and Harvey:)

Rats!!! Not really, of course, but by these cute little Zhu Zhu Pets:) All three of the kids got them for Christmas. Apparently, they were the "hot item" of the season, because stores were sold out of them and some people were spending up to $160.00 for them (and the play set they go in). I was NOT about to do that because I figured they would just be junk after about a month of play, but my Mom found them at Wal-Mart in Stuttgart on Christmas Eve! She didn't wrap them, but instead when we got to her house she had all the grand kids gather in the living room and they had a "mouse hunt" and which ever one they found was their pet to keep. They had fun doing it:)

I haven't posted in a few days, so I guess I'll take this opportunity to catch up. On New Year's Day we ate lunch at my Grammy's--all the usual new year food--hog jowl, black-eyed peas, cabbage(YUCK), fried potatoes. I can't imagine that food giving you prosperity throughout the year. If anything I would imagine it clogs your arteries leading you closer to a heart attack or stroke that year!! Right after we finished eating we left to go see my sister and family in Morrilton. We had to take her baby Ellie's baby bed and some other things they didn't have room in their Jeep for at Christmas. I forgot my camera:( We had a great time and now Jamie has everything ready for that sweet little girl! I can't wait--but I just hope she doesn't come while Makena is having her tonsils taken out. The C-Section has been scheduled for the 22ND of January, but she quit taking her Brethine(med that stops contractions) so it could really be at any time. Saturday we didn't do much at all. It was my turn to clean the church, so I did that duty, then Carl went to my parents to help my Dad spit some wood. Carl fixed some YUMMY steaks last night then we gave the kids baths, watched Matilda and put them to bed. I'm kinda sad that they have to go back to school on Tuesday:( I'll miss them--and I dread getting Makena out of bed(she's been sleeping until 9:00 every morning!)! Happy Sunday Everybody:)

Good luck with her tonils. Kylan has his taken out last year and did pretty good. The first two days went GREAT, but he then started running a high temp. He didn't feel bad though, and it didn't last long. It wasn't bad all around though.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! We made it through another week here on the homestead. Today, I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites :) This week has flown by! On Monday, Wrenley started her new "school year" at daycare. Even though she is in the same school with a lot of the same kids, she moved up and is now officially in PreK! She has had to adjust to new teachers, but seems to like it so far :) She is BeBe's big girl! 💓💓💓 At the beginning of the week, Carl asked if Makena and I wanted to go with him and Trey put some corn and salt blocks out for the deer. Say less, sir! Of course, our answer was yes :) Our chariot and driver Trey and Maggie Hopefully, our hard work pays off! Also came across this guy. He was around 5 ft. long and had 14 rattlers. Don't ask how I know that 😟 We always have a good time when we hang out with our guys, and that is most certainly a favorite! Watching my girl do her thing at work will always be my favorite!...

Friday Favorites

Woo Hoo, it's Friday! Just last week I was talking about how this month is flying by, but this week has moved at a snail's pace! Today, I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for Friday Favorites. I have been working on my fitness for about a year now, more seriously in the past 6 months. One thing I've worked on is getting my daily protein in. I tried the built puff protein bars a while ago and they are wonderful, but earlier this week I found the sour puffs, and wow, those things are surprisingly amazing!! I've also taken the new year to do a little more for myself. I started ordering from Nuuly (a monthly clothing subscription). I have found serveral brands that I have wanted to try. There is no pressure to buy anything. You just simply pick 6 items, wear them for the month and send it back and then pick 6 more items (of course, you can purchase if you like). This is a new favorite of mine. At the end of November I bought tickets to the Jason Aldean conce...

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, Friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites. What a week it has been! Having picnics with Wrenley and Makena were pretty high up on my favorites list. She wanted a lunchable (big surprise there!) while Makena and I had tuna salad. Playing outside is a must with Wrenley! And she loves making sure the bird bath has plenty of water! Another thing on my favorites list is listening to Trey play the guitar. This smile is also my favorite! We had a celebration for my son-in-law, Caleb this week. He is a pretty great guy and we are thankful that he is "ours" now :)  He is my favorite son-in-law! As I was studying for my Gospel Project lesson earlier this week I realized we only have 3 more lessons! That means that summer break is just 3 weeks away (for our Wednesday night program)! Although I will still have to prepare lessons for Sunday School and VBS.  Summer is my favorite! This summer will be extra sp...
