Pensacola Lighthouse

As we walked in to pay for our tour we past this sign!
The lighthouse has been featured on the SciFi Channel and a ghost hunt has been filmed there.
I don't believe in ghost or anything like that, but I thought it was pretty cool!

The girls walking up to the keepers quarters

While we were there the lighthouse was under a little construction.  They were painting a black strip on it.  There is no way I could have that job!  I was scared to death of falling on the stairs climbing up and coming back down the actual lighthouse.

Part of the keepers quarters.  They couldn't have picked a creepier looking "fake" man!

The view was absolutely beautiful from the top.  I was fine when I got up there, I just couldn't hardly handle the stairs.  They were so narrow and winding....at one point I thought I would have a panic attack!  I guess that's why I was so relieved when I made it to the top.
Me and the kids....it was really windy up there!

Carl and the kids.  He was completely opposite of me.  He climbed the stairs fine, but as soon as he got to the top he froze.  He couldn't look over the side and about freaked out when Trey leaned over!!

I did it!  I finally got the chance to climb a lighthouse.  It has been on my bucket list for a while.  This one had some great history behind it, so it was very interesting.  It was scary, but I did it and man did my knee let me feel it for a while.  The next morning we were all very sore.  I'm so glad we were able to fit this in on our vacation!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
